Hayden’s not one for drinking due to his father being an alcoholic, and his own fear of becoming one due to genetics. Today, however, he did drink a lot at a high school party that he attended and his brain was slush and he was tipsy. Which meant bad decisions that he would probably regret later on, to be honest. And his bad choice for tonight is going to Ronnie’s house while drunk. 

Her father answers and he immediately looks unimpressed. “God, what are you doing here, Darmody?” he asks him, arms crossed over his chest as he glares at him. Though he is young, that doesn’t stop Ronnie’s father from judging him. Hayden used to believe it was because he was poor and Ronnie had money. But now, he’s convinced he doesn’t like him because he thinks he’s trash. “I...I...I’m here because I wanted to tell you how much I love your daughter,” he slurred, having to lean his hands against the front door wall, so that he doesn’t fall over and make an even bigger fool of himself. “One day I will marry and we will be the happiest couple alive. She is the most amazing woman - no person - I’ve ever met, and without her, the world would be an empty and dark place. I know you love her and hate me, but you’re gonna have to get used to seeing me everyday. Because I love her. I love Ronnie. I love her so so so much.”
