My first swimwear. I made my first swimwear recently, this self drafted bikini. After buying some swimwear and having to alter it so much, I thought why not just make some myself! So that’s what I’ve done. I used swimwear fabric for this, but my question is… can I use scuba fabric? It comes in so many nice patterns!! #Braugust2021 Day 1 Hello Hi!  My name is Heidi, and once again I'm participating in @Tailormadeshop 's #Braugust .  I've been sewing for most of my life, but the lingerie/fitness/swim/ lounge wear catagory is probably my favorite.  I work for an art education firm, and take on wardrobe/costume contracts on the side, it's a lot of making a wide range of stuff....and I love every minute of it. #braugust2020 #braugust Day 30, mix and match @tailormadeshop @ellieandmac_patterns My mix and match is a little different. (My entire wardrobe is built on the mix and match concept.) I fell in love with some embroidered fabric a few years ago, so I bought it. (I finally got around to useing it this summer.) Last year I found some panne and decided I NEEDED it, so I bought it and made a lounge set...well, they're almost the same color. How cool is that? I can mix and match two different sets together. One embroidered bra uses @emeralderinsews 's Jordy pattern, the panne boyshorts use her Tuesday shorts pattern. The other embroidered bra uses @orangelingerie 's landsdowne pattern. The panne tank, with a build in bra, is my own design. I got a remnant of this cute black abd white unicorn & rainbow fabric, I added some lace and some lining, and I have the cutest, coziest matching set. And since I already have a very monochrome wardrobe, it's pretty perfect. #braugust2020 #braugust Day 28, fantasy project @tailormadeshop @lilypadesigns *this is still a work in progress* One of my coworkers asked me if I would make her a strapless longline bra like my halloween one to go with a cranberry sateen suit we designed together. (This was supposed to be for a black tie fundraiser next January, but that event might not happen anymore.) So....with a few compromises, and 3 different tests, it's almost done. She wears a 40i, the biggest compromise was removable multiway straps because this isn't a corset, it's a bra. The underwires are currently still in the last test garment, since things are on hold, I'm not rushed to finish it. The suit has high-waisted, ankle length pants, with a cropped, fitted jacket. One of my frie ds had asked about sports bras the other day, so I decided to create one that matched the animal blackon place capris I made last week. I've always liked the cute details on the fast fashion variations, but they function terribley. So....I made sure to make the straps were sturdy enough to be supportive and NOT bouncy, even for larger cup sizes. It's 3/4" braided elastic serged on to the straps, then folded and stitched again. The band had elastic in the fabric casing. I messed up the math a tiny bit, which is why it's a tad bit messy at the back. The whole thing uses the same fabric, the matte effect is achived by using the wrong side. As an added bonus, I tested this today. Not only did I run wearing it and the matching capris, I jumped in the pool (next door) to cool off.
