We know Lena is emotionally repressed, so, in order for her to show us what she feels, without showing it, Brainy does the talking for both of them. First, it was about his/their regret over their actions in the previous season. They both went to the dark side, thinking they were doing good, and they both failed, but were willing to make amends. Now it’s both the anger over Lex’s actions, the need to seek retribution, the realization that they can’t, and their anguish over Kara’s fate, so far.
