In Body, In Mind, In Heart
Wrote this for Rachel and Brandi, out of sheer spite that DC KEEPS MAKING BRAINY BALD, LET HIM HAVE HIS PRETTY HAIR, COME ON YOU GUYS. Anyway, it's been 84 years since I wrote Supergirl, but here's a little slice of Earnest Brainy and his Kara being sweet and fluffy. Hope I can still write them alright!
Goes in the Earnest (Yellow Boots) Brainy timeline with "Possibilities", "Miracles", and not too long before "Metaphorical Applications". That'll make sense by the end. ;) _________________________________________________
"Come here. Five minutes." From the other side of the console, Kara holds out a hand and Querl can't help but to take it. As fast as his mind processes, it seems she is leading him to the sofa before he can really even think about it, settling with him and guiding him to lie down. His head in her lap, he curls into her, and Kara works Querl's hair free from its tie and slips her fingers through blonde strands in soothing rhythm, nails scritching softly at his scalp. Querl's smiles, looking sidelong up at her.
"I think you may be trying to put me to sleep."
"Is it working?" Kara smiles back and continues the gentle rhythm. "You need some sleep, sweetheart."
"So this is a scheme." He can't be mad. He's been awake for thirty two hours and forty seven-- forty eight minutes (oh) so she is possibly (quite possibly) correct on that count. "I didn't intend to..." Get carried away in his work? Let time slip by so quickly? Worry her? All of that.
