Mintflower makes a declaration...
The small but respected leader fluttered in front of her followers, the number of which had steadily grown since she and her mate threw the clan together.
“Today is a great day!” she declared in her high-otiched voice.
The dragons murmured among themselves for a moment, discussing what they already knew and mumbling about what perhaps they did not.
Mintflower continued on, “Today We have four new clanmates, two breeding pairs. They will help us acquire treasure by reproducing beautiful little babies for us. Of course, we will keep one of their first litter as is protocol for all of us.”
THe dragons nodded, looking to the newest dragons, who stood at the back of the group. They all had already met, but now the parents were remaining close to their incubating clutches instead of socializing very much.
Brackenrose looked troubled and finally spoke up, “Is that really right?”
“What is wrong with it?” Mintflower challenged.
Brackenrose said nothing, but Mintflower noticed her daughter, Frogclaw whisper something to the dragoness she knew her to prefer. She’d have to speak with her daughter later, privately.
“In other news,” Mintflower went on, “Swiftfang and Fernfrost have agreed to betrothal. As their markings correspond, it has been decided that they too shall be one of our high breeding pairs.”
The dragons happily congratulated the two little dragons, still hatchlings, and they noticed they sat together, unsure of what was happening, but feeling a sense of excitement as the clan urged them onward in this path.
Duskfall nodded, happy about the news of his daughter, though it could be seen that Brackenrose was not nearly as thrilled. Still, he gave a few words, “I look forward to my kin to come!”
Darkpool, added, “As do we all!”
Mintflower looked to their food pile and said in a celebratory fashion, “Let us feast!”
