Back in April, I talked about the BRA ★ BRA FFVII concert that twitter user cetluslc9 attended where Kitase referred to the “Words Drowned By Fireworks” song as the song that “plays during the date with Aerith”. Now thanks to Aerith501 on twitter for sharing these images of their pamphlet for the BRA ★ BRA concert, we get to see a little more about it.

Kazuko Shibuya (pixel graphic artist for SQ-EN) says that making Cloud and Aerith have “matching instruments” (Cloud’s trumpet and Aerith’s flute) was “too cute.” ♥
As you can see, Cloud and Aerith’s date is what represents the song “Words Drowned by Fireworks”.
For the pieces of text, I did a rather quick translation so forgive any errors, but I believe Nobuo talks about how this theme (Words Drowned by Fireworks) and Tifa’s theme are pieces he considered to be his “weakest” (?) and most “effeminate” songs off of the OST and he never really arranged “ Words Drowned by Fireworks “ during concerts for this reason, but after overseas game concerts did their version of the song (I’m assuming he’s referring to the Final Symphony concerts he helped with) , he ended up liking the song (Words Drowned By Fireworks) better and wanted to do it, as well.
The character summary explains why they chose a flute for Aerith and says Aerith is a “美人の女性” (beautiful woman) and also refers to her as the “heroine” (ヒロイン) twice. It goes on to say that the flute is similar to her weapon and that’s another reason they chose it.
