Can you feel the lingering fuzz of the summer heat starting to fade into a cooler, calmer climate? We’re falling back into fall, y’all. For some of us, this means early mornings are on their way back — possibly inside a classroom, maybe in an office. When I was still in college, these late summer evenings held a sense of “waiting;” they felt like something was hiding just around the corner, suspended in time. Being in school can feel like a suspension of time, especially when during three months of the year you may find yourself in a new town with new people, a new job, or anything temporary that you know you’ll have to leave for a while until next time. That feeling is still around, but now, as I get older, it seems like I am experiencing someone else’s “waiting.” I’d share my old “Falling Back to Fall” mix, but this one here is much more grown up (and trust me, 17 year old me wasn’t the most cultured... She also thought it would be a good idea to dye her hair every possible color).
Come see musicians included on this mix live! Big Thief play the 9:30 Club on Sunday, November 10. Additionally, Boyscott will be opening for Pinegrove at the Club on Thursday, September 26.
