The truth is of course is that there is no journey. We are arriving and departing all at the same time. - #bowiequotes #bowielove #printlife
"I'm actually very nineteenth century — a born Romantic"
David Bowie, 1995
Towards the end of it the camera pans across director Tony Oursler’s New York studio to where David is leaning against the wall. It’s here that we see a slogan on his T-shirt reading m/s Song Of Norway, which true Bowie fans will know relates to the film of the same name in which Hermione Farthingale, David’s girlfriend and artistic collaborator for a couple of years in the late Sixties, danced; a production which took her away from David for long stretches and in no small part helped precipitate the end of their intense romance.

Last year David performed in various Oursler video installations in a show called Face To Face and was pretty much unnoticed by mainstream media. It’s another great Bowie trait that he’s happy to work under the radar with anyone he finds inspiring. It’s highly likely that David’s recent collaborations with Oursler have been a major force behind his own sudden burst of creativity. That David shares so much of his profile with the artist in this video again underlines a genuine generosity of spirit. For Bowie is an artist who, when excited about someone’s work, shares and promotes the abilities of others.

He's a proper artist. He doesn't release records because it's time for another record. He releases records when there's somehting for him to say. He's an innovator and we should be very excited to have him back again.
