If we’re going classic BIG Bowie songs for the rest of the season... I want Heroes (obviously, come on), Starman (the lyrics could be GREAT and it’s kinda swoony and epic) and Changes (those LYRICS) and it’s just a damn tune.

The number one I NEED them to use is Lazarus. It could work like a DREAM too with those lyrics and could be for a darker moment, maybe?

Moonage Daydream is a Bowie song I didn’t know too well lyrics wise until today, I listened to it on the train. The lyrics are typical Bowie... so who the heck knows but I LOVE the line “I'm the space invader, I'll be a rock 'n' rollin' bitch for you”. Bowie was so bloody cool and ridiculous. I mean, in a literal sense, it reads like a pseudo sex dream with an alien... (it IS Ziggy after all) so I don’t have any metaphorical offerings (which is unlike me!).

I like your idea that it’s about transformation. I get a weird “I’ll do whatever you want, I’ll bend to your will and disappear into whatever you want me to be” vibe from that song. The lyrics “Make me baby, make me know you really care, Make me jump into the air” are so unsettling to me. “Put your ray gun to my head”.

I’m trying not to read self destruction into it because it’s me adding my own opinions to a song that is very very very VERY likely to be anything anyone can want it to be but I don’t get a settled vibe from the lyrics. Bowie lyrics are so perfect for a creative mind like Sander’s and for Skam in general if they’re going to delve into the metaphorical stuff (which they already have shown they are into in this season). It’s my jam. I could WEEP over what Skam Italia did as a totally new thing but still adding layered metaphors to their version.

I’m more into the lyrics of Cat People because they are AMAZING for Sander and it’s a killer song.

He used “Those who feel me near, Pull the blinds and change their minds” for his fire pit post which... THOSE LYRICS *insert emoji eyes* but the other lyrics - “Just be still with me, You wouldn't believe what I've been through” and “These tears can never dry, A judgment made can never bend”

My dad was a big Bowie fan so I’m pretty familiar with his stuff and grew up with it and then started listening to it myself when I was a teenager but I love learning more!
