This barbecue sauce is tasty and sour, with a hint of orange and a kick of bourbon. Great for grilling and giving your favorite barbecue dishes a new twist.
Ingredients: 1 cup ketchup. 1/2 cup orange juice. 1/4 cup bourbon. 2 tablespoons soy sauce. 2 tablespoons brown sugar. 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard. 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 teaspoon smoked paprika. 1/2 teaspoon black pepper. 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional.
Instructions: Put ketchup, orange juice, bourbon, soy sauce, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, smoked paprika, black pepper, and cayenne pepper if you want in a saucepan. Make sure to stir everything together well. Start by setting the pan on medium heat. Then, slowly pour the mixture in. Turn down the heat and let the sauce simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring every now and then, until it gets the thickness you want. Take the barbecue sauce off the heat and let it cool down before you use it. The Orange Bourbon Barbecue Sauce can be used to baste meats on the grill in the last 10 minutes of cooking or as a dip.
