Sonic Prime Extended Universe HCs - Boscage Maze
so we know that the Shatterverses arenât âreal,â full universes, just  distorted reflections of the Prime that arenât fully-formed, hence why  thereâs only like 6 people and two locations. However fucking around is  fun fun fun so Iâm just gonna do a post for each universe dissecting  where the other Sonic Universe characters would be and what theyâd be up  to. Please for the love of GOD add your own ideas/hcs in the comments I  want us all to melt into creativity mush.

literally OBSESSED with @son1câs idea that this place is a MegaFlora apocalypse instead of a prehistory era so that may color my interpretations a little pls go look at their cool windthrow and halcyon
Thorn and Prim are sisters; I wonât shut up about that interpretation I think you can tell. Anyway, my hc is that she was found alone in the woods as a toddler by their tribe and adopted by Primâs dads. Primâs dads were the tribe leaders, and one also had the honored position of Forest Protector; they treat him like kind of a spiritual leader. He WAS training Prim to be future protector but she was just... never very interested? And he could tell, so when Thorn showed an interest he kinda switched to her. Prim literally never once minded, she thought it was neat that she didnât have to worry about Future Expectations anymore. Well, until several years in the future, when Thorn went âmadâ and she had to take over her dadsâ former position as leader.
Gnarly was also found in the woods, this time as an egg. I like to think toddler Prim found him and brought him home thinking it was just a shiny rock. She was massively disappointed when it hatched and kept trying to shove him back in the eggshell.
This is because the echidnas are still around in the Boscage, but I like to think a timeline-condensing like in the SCU happened and Pachacamacâs in charge so the echidna tribes are constantly trying to kill each other. Itâs a warzone when they meet up. When the Knuckles Clan were passing through Thornâs area, it was pretty tense between tribes but Primâs dads led a peaceful tribe and so the Knuckles Clan didnât see them as a threat and left them pretty much alone so long as they didnât make nuisances of themselves. The Knuckles Clan eventually moved on to go bother the Nocturnus the next forest over. As Thorn inherited the position of Protector from her Father, Tikal inherited it from her grandmother. Funny how Thorn from the peaceful tribe ended up being more confronational and Tikal from the warrior tribe ended up being a pacifist.
Once again, Sticks is fucking THRIVING. This is her DREAM world. We have no government!!!! She doesnât even know what a robot is!!!!!!! She is THE happiest person on the planet this is HER world weâre just living in it!!!
It is harder for humans to survive in this world than the animals, so theyâre pretty scarce, and often live either high in the trees or deep underground. The OVA humans are obviously sky-based. The SCU humans live in one of the few land-based settlements, running a farming community as best they can in a meadow. The X humans are mainly underground but the kids often sneak to the surface to explore. Sam helps them do this cause he thinks itâs funny.
also the Sonic Underground characters literally live underground
Blaze starts fires when sheâs mad and this world is nothing but flammable plants so she is like sooo repressed itâs insane. Gardon keeps reminding her that âWell, at least we donât need to work hard to start a campfire!â
Marine is feral like Mangey and we love her for it
Tangle keeps getting her tail tangled (no pun intended) up in vines and branches and Jewel and Lanolin have to extricate her
Acorn is a decently thriving communityâ Knothole is literally just their territory, instead of a medieval kingdom. They like to say they have more damage caused by Dulcyâs crash-landings than any kind of environmental disruption. Bunnie has a wooden prosthetic arm and leg braces that she wraps up in vines cause she thinks it looks cool as hell.
Actually now that Iâm typing this, them being in conflict with the Knux Tribe might be a neat idea...

The characters who have the MOST issues obvsly are the very tech-y ones. Tekno is pretty good at going 2016!Jungle Book and using her skills to make new gardening and foraging equipment but literally all it would take is one run-in with the Nocturnus to get her to build the worldâs first gun. Bean doesnât have bombs but he DOES have fire which he will use on EVERYTHING.
Bark, signing furiously: Bean stop setting everyone on fire to see what will happen!!! what will happen is fire!!!
Bean: but what if... what happens... isnât fire???
Bean: GOOD NEWS WHAT HAPPENED WAS FIRE
Canât decide if the Zeti are doin well or not. They seem to live in a very natural world already, with their control over electronics only being a problem in their main hub and when Eggman shows up, buuut also they are not a âwork together to surviveâ species.
okay and and AND. what iâm sure everyone was waiting for, even if you didnât know you were waiting for it:
(sidenote: we were never told Cosmoâs species name in canon, unless it is actually just âMetarex.â âSeedrianâ is a fanon name so I might use it but if I refer to the whole species as Metarex thatâs why)
Okay so like. These are guys are THEEE dominant species over here. Either they caused the megaflora apocalypse or theyâre a byproduct of it; either way, it gave them like a HUUUGE burst of control over the planet.
Thornâs tribe hasnât encountered them often mainly because they are on like. The other side of the planet. Totally diff continent. But uuuuhhh it will not take long before these bitches learn how to cross the ocean and start causing trouble.
They have basically the same biology/life cycle, except now that the planet is 90% plant they have a greater connection to the natural world and use this to their advantage.
Unfortunately, Earthia died in the normal Metarex/Seedrian way so Dark Oak is in charge and hahahaha heâs uuuuuuhhhhh not super nice to non-plant ppl :)
Dark Oakâs philosophy thatâs kinda spread through the species is âThese animal-mobians have to KILL OTHER THINGS to survive, how barbaric. We just subsist on solar power like normal civilized people.â No matter the universe, Dark Oak loves to enable war crimes, so this goes about as well as youâd expect.
Ofc thereâs still a lot of dissenters so theyâre infighting about as much as theyâre outfighting. Is outfighting a word? i dont care
Galaxina and Cosmo are the only surviving kids of Earthia/Oak. Both are kinda Tikal-style the voice of reason but they are not good at it, especially poor âdoesnât know how to talk to pplâ Cosmo.
The Nameless Zone foxes live on this side of the planet and theyâve been the main forces against the Metarex. They used some kind of magic to teleport Mangey to the other side of the planet because... idk prophecy or someshit? Maybe they were just under attack and needed to get the kid out asap. But I want Cosmo to eventually find him and be like âAH, AN ENEMYâ and then he just clings to her arm and sheâs like âOh nevermind this is an angelâ
If the Metarex had shown up in Green Hills when Thorn was still on her rampage everyone else on the planet would be dead thereâs like no question about it. Thankfully by the time they get there Thornâs mellowed out quite a bit and is like âHmm. Sounds genocide-y. Have you ever been hit in the face with a hammer? WOULD YOU LIKE TO???â
