MC had a childhood full of pain and tears.
There parents had been amazing people. Warm, kind, soft, gentle, and they never raised their voices.
But then there was a car accident and only MC survived.
At 5 years old their parents were dead.
So MC was sent to live with their aunt and uncle.
But their aunt and uncle were not good people.
Verbal abuse was common, as was mental. There wasn't physical abuse, at least, not until they turned 11.
When they turned 11 their uncle had gotten drunk and slapped MC's aunt, and then their uncle turned his attention to MC...
MC had been punched in the face, their nose cracked, and they fell to the ground. Their uncle then kicked their ribs.
After that it was like a switch had been flipped in their aunt and uncle's minds.
They were angry, MC was the punching bag.
MC burned food on accident, they were hurt and deprived food.
They wanted stress relief, MC had to endure.
Every single little thing got them hurt.
But MC never told anyone or reported it.
Because they thought they deserved it. They thought that if they endured and did better, then maybe the two would love MC.
But they didn't, and that never happened.
As soon as they were old enough they were taking up multiple jobs, paying for their own food, paying for their aunt and uncle, funding their gambling and alcohol addiction.
MC didn't have any friends, so they went to books and games. They found solace in the characters.
They heard about Genshin Impact and they couldn't play the game itself so they found the lore, watched play-throughs, read everything they could about the characters.
And then one day, their aunt and uncle took MC on vacation, to a lake house.
They never did this before. So MC was both hopeful and yet so very nervous too. Everything looked like it was taking a turn for the better, until on the fourth day.
The fourth day MC had been woken early in the morning by their aunt. Their aunt then dragged them to the lake.
MC was then shoved into the water, their body pinned down by their uncle, their head held under by their Aunt.
They thrashed and tried to calm down and get air but their uncle broke their wrist, causing MC to cry out, water flooding their mouth and lungs.
And their Aunt and Uncle got off scott-free, not one finding out it was them who murdered MC...
But that was not the end for MC.
They woke to darkness and then, cracks of light. Then somehow they broke out of an... egg?
They looked around, puddles everywhere. It was a thunderstorm. They looked in one such puddle and froze.
Because that was not what they looked like. They looked like... a dragon? But without wings.
Small, chunky, purple, had six legs/arms, a tail, two horns...
They sneezed and small sparks flew from their nose.
They accepted this fate after two weeks of sulking.
They wandered alone for many, many years, their body growing longer, becoming serpentine. They were able to fly as well. They were quite happy. And then… then they found a small creature a 'Fire Rat' as they are often called.
Next to the Red creature was one similar to that of a monkey.
And so, the dragon-esque creature cooed at the two small creatures. The two little ones shrunk away but soon enough, the Fire Rat clambered up the purple creature, climbing up one of their six legs and up their neck and then sat down right in-between their horns.
That's how the lonely dragon got rid of their loneliness.
Years later and they found another creature, a blue snail. The little one was not shy at all and immediately the monkey picked up the snail and brought the blue one to the purple creature.
They just curled around the three small creatures, the red one being quite happy.
Years went by and the four were happy. They could all speak the human language too, they just often didn't.
And then one day, a great dragon descended from the sky and said he wished to make a deal with the five creatures.
They four debated for a long time, so long that they even got to know the dragon well. Eventually a decision was reached.
They were given names by the dragon.
The blue snail was named, Bonanus.
The monkey was named, Menogias.
The fire rat was named, Indarias.
The purple dragon/snake, the one with a past unknown to all, was given the name, Bosacius!MC.
Ah… so that's what happened. He had been reborn in Genshin Impact. But Bosacius!MC does not mind, not at all. He has a family.
And so the four illuminated beasts gained human forms.
And hundreds of years went by, and Morax because something akin to an… older brother, to the Yakshas.
They four met the other Adepti too.
The Yakshas fought for Morax, fought for each other, and with each enemy they cut down, another sliver of darkness nestled in their minds and souls.
Near the end of the war, Bosacius and his siblings were introduced to their fifth.
And he had the most adorable teal/green bird form.
The five bonded with each other, the other Adepti, Morax, and Morax's allies.
And then the war ended and Guizhong was dead.
The five wept together and comforted their god.
Thousands of years get by and they cut down enemies.
Karmic Debt, as it had been called, had nestled into their minds and souls, hurting them all.
Bosacius!MC had never revealed his true strength, he had never revealed how smart he was.
He hid it all and for what? Because it was unneeded and besides, his siblings loved it when they one against sparks with him or out witted him, never knowing that he had toned down his own abilities by so much.
Not even Morax had known or even suspected his true strength and smarts…
But the Karmic debt was a cruel thing, and so when Khaenri'ah fell, so too did the Yaksha.
Bosacius!MC watched helplessly as his friends, his siblings, his family, went insane.
Indarias had been first, screaming in pain, her mask shattering.
Menogias fought Bonanus, both thinking the other was an enemy, their masks shattering with the Karmic Debt.
Alatus collapsed, screams erupting from his lips.
And Bosacius!MC watched helplessly.
The Karmic Debt had never affected him, or at least, not in the way it affected the others. For others it drive them to madness, for him, it caused PAIN, agonizing and unending pain. But the others had never known that, had never known it caused pain instead of madness, and he never corrected them (this is partly why they think he went insane and then died instead of assuming he was alive).
And then his siblings turned on him, trying to kill him.
Indarias, Menogias, and Bonanus had lunged for him.
But Bosacius!MC could not kill him, so instead he pushed them back. He pleaded and begged, tears streaming down his face, and he ignored the pain of his own Karmic debt and the wounds he gained from his siblings.
But the three did not come back.
And so they died and Bosacius!MC fled.
He did not deserve to stay, not when he couldn't save his siblings, not when he had fought them (he had only pushed them back), not when he stayed sane while they all fell to madness.
And besides, there were still battles.
So he went and fought and saved. He never once spoke his name, and so he was dubbed the Nameless Yaksha.
Bosacius!MC reached the Chasm, and he fought with the soldiers there. He did not smile much anymore, but when he did, they were small, fragile, and the soldiers simply adored them. He bonded with the soldiers there and then… then he led the monsters to the Chasm.
There he descended, getting the things to follow after him. The Soldiers came down with him, only 3 staying behind. And there the monsters became more numerous and dangerous.
In the Chasm the soldiers fell to madness or died to the beasts.
He is not sure which fate was worse.
He does not wish to find out.
And then Bosacius!MC and Boyang remained.
And so the two nodded to each other and activated the Compass.
And Bosacius!MC and Boyang remained, seal just like the beasts.
The Yaksha-no, he did not deserve that name, he never has. Bosacius!MC shared stories of his siblings with Boyang, and Boyang listened. The two became brothers.
The soldiers had never received Bosacius!MC's name, nor his sibling's names. Only Boyang did, and that was after the chasm had been sealed. All that people knew, was of the Nameless Yaksha who fought with ferocity (essentially the canon stories).
And then one day, Boyang became weak, too weak to move. Bosacius had cried, but he said it was ok, that he could leave now, that he could be at peace. And so Boyang died, cradled in Bosacius!MC's arms.
Years went by but then Bosacius!MC found a way out of the Chasm.
It's only been 5 years since his siblings died, only 4 sense Boyang died, and yet their deaths remain vivid in his mind.
Bosacius!MC left the chasm but he did not go to Liyue, he did not go to the Adepti, he did not go to Alataus/Xiao, he did not go to Morax.
And he helped the other nations.
No one saw him, they did not hear him. He hunted in the shadows, electricity dancing from his fingers, and he cut down god remains, beasts, shadows, the abyss, everything.
Alatus/Xiao, Morax, the other Adepti, they all thought he was dead too. They thought he had gone mad, that he had fought against the Yaksha, that he had died. Yet his body had never been found and his fate remained unknown. (Basically it's canon)
And that is for the better.
Because Bosacius!MC does not deserve to be around them, to even look at them.
So he suffers in this loneliness.
He deserves this pain, this agony.
He deserves this suffering.
Even if people had seen him, he had used his magic and abilities to warp their mind and change their memories of that encounter. No one knew the truth.
And it was better that way.
Occasionally people fell into the Chasm, and he guided them out, and later altered memories. They stopped wandering into the Chasm 100 years before canon.
He guided people, healed people, fought gods remains, fought monsters, and suffered. And no one ever remembered.
And Bosacius!MC remains all alone.
The Karmic Debt had only gotten worse for him, causing so much pain and agony but… he had gotten used to it, so used to it that it usually only felt like a light sting. But it has ramped up considerably, steadily growing worse and worse, but Bosacius!MC got used to it.
No one knew he was alive, they did not suspect it.
And that was for the better because he deserved this all.
It still hurts to see Morax- Zhongli, fall, even when he knows the god is alive.
Bosacius!MC had done as he always did, no one saw, no one suspected, no one heard.
And then Inazuma was saved too.
Traveler and Paimon came back. They met up with Itto and Shinobu. They met up with Yanfei and Yelan.
Bosacius!MC watches as they fall into the Chasm…
And when the echoes of his battles appear he watches.
No one suspects anything.
And then they discover how the compass can be used and they are rising up the chasm.
Bosacius!MC helps the battle, in the shadows. It is as if it was another lingering battle echo, a memory.
Then later they suspect it was his last will in a way, a remnant of his ghost.
They did not even having a passing thought that he was alive, that he hadn't gone insane, that he protected EVERYONE from the shadows. Not even Zhongli suspected...
And so Bosacius!MC watches from the shadows and continues onward.
(That last memory they saw, the one Travelr and Xiao saw while rising through the chasm, it was the same one as in canon)
He will walk in the shadows so they may remain in the dark.
He will bear the shackles of pain and loneliness so they may never know them.
He will suffer so they don't.
He will remain in the shadows, shackled, and always alone so they may go free.
He does not deserve to even look at them, much less be around them and reveal the truth, so he stays away.
He will walk on glass so they may walk on grass.
He will become the torch that lights the dark.

Whoo boy this was a doozy
I hope you like it and I hope it makes sense! Writing this was a blur so I hope it turned out well and lived up to your expectations
I shall now exist in the corner, contemplating every single life choice.
Bosacius!MC did not deserve this fate, indeed... can we pretend that Xiao found out he was alive and he drags Bosacius!MC home and all the Adepti just hug and care for him? Please?
