It gets easier
We had a new person start working out with us today. She was very unfamiliar with the movements but our instructor took the time to show her how and we took the time to support her and encourage her in class. She made it through class and we got to talking. I told her it gets easier. She asked me how long I have been doing it and I responded 5 years. I wish I had unpacked the statement “ it gets easier”. What I mean by that is: You will be bad at something the first time you do it and probably the second time you do it. You might not get okay with something until the 20th time, but the more you do it the smoother your movements will get, the faster you will go, and the more powerful your motions will be. Yes, the workout has been close to the same for 5 years, but the effort I can put into it has increased tremendously and that’s where the results come from.
