I think the best way to feel satisfied with whatever you are doing is doing it with pride and honor.  As much as you think your job is boring as hell, the fact that you are there to fulfill such a job makes you important and needed.  If the quality of what you do is high, the chain of excellence proceeds, and the end product will be good too - which makes everything make sense and your job important.  Always remember that as long as you do your job with diligence, your job is noble.
