Grand Prairie, TX — New Ninja Warrior Gym Soft Opening Tomorrow
Hey everyone — we’ve been working behind the scenes for a while and we’re finally opening the doors (soft opening) for Amped Obstacles 👀
We’re a brand new ninja warrior / obstacle training gym + indoor playground in Grand Prairie, TX, and we’re doing a soft opening:
📅 May 1st, 2026 ⏰ 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM
This is a chance to come check out the facility before our full grand opening. We’ve got warped walls, obstacle rigs, hanging challenges, and open space for kids (and adults) to move around and try things out.
What to expect:

Ask about classes, camps, and memberships
Just hang out and try obstacles
We’re building this to be something different for DFW — not just for kids, but also for adults who want a fun way to train.

Day 56: Programming Bootcamp
I love curating playlists, but I really love creating a bootcamp session or circuit class.
Here's my method.
Who's coming to class? Consider their goals, what will challenge them, what they like, what they don't like (mwah ha ha)
Size of class - more than 6 = a circuit. Fewer than 6 = we're all playing together
Location of class - porch, garage, or outside. Look at weather.
Timing of session - is this a standalone class? Or, is this a Friday class with Sat and Sun lined up for bootcamp as well? Will clients attend this class and the next day? This helps me consider the type of class - full body, upper, lower, barre bootcamp
Create 6-10 sets that follows the movement methodology - squat, lunge, hinge, push, pull, carry
Consider the style - tabata? 2 min? 1 min?
Consider cardio breaks - 1 min
Create the finisher - 1 min power move or a fun game
Create the playlist - song I can't get out of my head for the opening and (usually) a Taylor Swift cool down. I rely on Power Music for tabata timed songs.
Review the playlist/tempo and compare to the corresponding sets to see if they make sense
Write the movements on my white boards for the stations or one white board if we're doing the workout all together
Set-up the class
Do at least two rounds of the class before it starts to make sure I can share best practices for form
