1) What book have you been unable to finish?
I bought this book a year and half ago because there was so much hype about it and everyone has such positive things to say. I started reading it an while I liked the concept and the conflict with the distant siblings, I found the writing to be a bit confusing and slow paced that I couldn’t get into it so I read other books. I want to give this book another chance this summer.
2) What book have you yet to read because you just haven’t had the time?
I finished the Vampire Academy series earlier this year and I immediately bought Bloodlines, but college and work consumed all of my time that I didn’t want to start the book without giving it all of the attention it deserved. Now that I just have work to worry about, I am going to try to marathon this series so that they can be beautifully arranged next to their sister books.
3) What book have you yet to read because it’s a sequel?
I absolutely LOVED Alienated by Melissa Landers! I thought the concept and storyline was fresh and it was one of the first Sci/Fi YA books I had read. Then came the yearlong wait for the sequel and you know how that goes. I forgot key points of the story, what had happened, and what was going to happen in this book so I read the first few pages very confused. I put it down so that I could read the first one again and refresh my memory, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. Once I do, I’m picking this book right back up.
4) What book have you yet to read because it’s brand new?
i enjoy all of Morgan Matson’s books because they are always fun to read, especially in the summer! I have heard nothing but good things about her new book and I plan to buy this one while I’m in New York in a few weeks so I can read it while out and about.
5) What book have you yet to read because you read a book by the same author and didn’t enjoy it?
I have said this before and I’ll say it again: there is something about Rick Riordan’s writing that i just can’t seem to get into. I read the first book in this series and started the second, but I just couldn’t keep going despite the fact that I love Greek mythology. In a few months, I’m plan to space out this series so that maybe I don’t feel as overwhelmed as I normally would if I read them back to back.
6) What book have you yet to read because you’re just not in the mood for it?
For some reason, I enjoy reading books that talk about dark topics as these two do, but I haven’t been in the mood to prepare myself for such emotions whenever I start reading these. Lately, I want love and fluff and romance and happy thoughts. But definitely soon since I have been dying to read these for months!
7) What book have you yet to read because it’s humongous?
Part of the reason I haven’t read Winter by Marissa Meyer is because of its size. The other part is that I am waiting for it to come out in paperback since that’s how i have the first three books in this series. Both of which have delayed me reading Fairest and Stars Above.
8) What book have you yet to read because it was a cover buy that turned out to have poor reviews?
I’ve also said this before too. This beautiful cover reminded me of the Anna and the French Kiss cover, so, of course, I had to buy it. I also read wonderful reviews online about it handling depression in a way no book has done before. But when I started reading it, I hated the main character. I didn’t understand or relate to her in any way. I want to go back and finish this just to see what everyone was talking about. Maybe i couldn’t see it before.
9) What is the most intimidating book in your TBR pile?
This book isn’t intimidating in the sense that it is big or the storyline is confusing, but in the sense that the main character is dealing with her OCD and I want to be able to focus and really feel everything that she is going through.
