Went to Portland, ME to nurse my existential crisis with Emily

Met Em’s new boyfriend Thomas, who’s great and happily proclaimed me a super nerd after I showed him my Firefly music video

Left my inhaler/epipen/benadryl kit at a bar at last call (thank goodness it was there the next day. #allergiclyfe)

Went to H&M in South Portland, because that H&M is clearly very different than the one in Boston

Helped out working at a cupcake stand for a ginormous outdoor concert

Hung out at Mike’s for the evening and talked Arrested Development and music with people who knew way more about music than I did (but it was awesome, and we were well-matched in Arrested Development knowledge)

Stubbed my toe SO hard that it bled all over the place (ty sidewalks for your strange metal hunks that stick out)

Walked around Portland and took in the beauty/salty sea air that reminded me of my golden youth

Visited THE CUTEST book/stationary store, and finally got a bookjig!!

modern8 | modern8 is a brand design agency based in Salt Lake City, Utah. The agency, founded by Randall Smith, specializes in print, branding and web design. The images above are from their branding and packaging created for Bookjigs. BookJigs are an innovative bookmark which attaches directly to your book's cover so it is never lost. Besides the lovely product itself, I love the variety of themes in the packaging. The illustrations are beautiful and there is a perfect balance between the packaging and the bookmarks. 

In 2010 a company with a funny name and a new product approached us. Our strategic recommendations included using the company name as a product name and simplifying it. Bookjigs is an original product innovation for a common need: bookmarks. We designed packaging that graphically and verbally explains how the product is different. Bookjigs attach to your book and include a ribbon so you never lose your place. The graphic approach of the packaging developed into a brochure and counter-top display to promote the retail products.
