I have so, so many books waiting on my TBR list yet I feel msyelf overcome with an urge to pick up my well loved, well worn copy of the Gormenghast trilogy and get lost in it again. This book has been through a lot. My parents moved house whilst i was away and it was 'lost' in a black bag that got dumped in a damp shed for a few years - I was distraught and actually went on a hunt for the same exact book cover and everything - I now have 2 exact copies, one more damaged than the other! I remember when the TV adaptation came out, I loved it tbh, especially Steerpike. I may wait until after I come back from holiday when I don't have to worry about luggage space.
I'm torn.
These books and the universe they contain had a huge, lasting impact on my life. I don't wanna just throw them away.
But also: fuck TERFs. And if I remove HP, I'll have space for the books I've bought since getting my new bookcase.
Ignore the LOTR Bitty Pops. They're staying, obvs.
“I'm so broke like, I've definetly spent too much on books, and I probably need to get a job, my wallet is currently worth more than its actual contents and-”
“wanna get iced coffee”
“let me get my shoes”
Just a tiny gripe about bookshops as someone who really prefers hardcovers, it really bugs me how the moment a book gets a paperback release, the shop will most likely only select the paperback editions as they reorder stock. I understand they are probably cheaper to order, but dangit i want my nice solid hardcovers! Trust me, I’ll gladly pay the extra cash for a sturdy copy.

so is anyone else trying to find That One Perfect Book to start the new year off with or is that just me?
Love is a many splendored thing.
Should I buy the kindle version or a physical copy? I like to read books while holding them but I also feel a sense of calm if I'm able to carry them all with me. I just want to be able to do both for every book.
