The 1960 Fiat 1500 Spider by coachbuilder Boneschi, designed by Rodolfo Bonetto, introduced his Linea Tesa principles. Unlike the rounded forms of the 1950s and early 1960s, Bonetto’s 1500 Spider embraced a much more angular and minimalist approach. Its clean design featured crisp lines running the length of the car, creating a sharp wedge-shaped profile. While unusual at the time, this sharp geometric aesthetic paved the way for the boxier designs of the 1970s and 1980s.
The Maserati 3500 GT "Tight" by Boneschi was part of their “linea tesa” programme with designer Rodolfo Bonetto. First presented in November 1962 at the Turin Auto Show, a second, more refined car (AM 101.2724 pictured) was shown at the Geneva show in March the following year. Its sharply defined lines and sleek styling meant it became a significant milestone in the evolution of Italian automotive design.
