oof… I 100% believe it I just don’t remember it that well (bc hot take its not one of my favorite hitchcock films) (tbf neither is suspicion but you see I am in love with joan fontaine) (also I don’t think that one is a hot take)
(to be clear I love when characters are a little mean I think it’s fun it’s just a lot less fun when it’s like man is constantly belittling and negging woman and there’s no reckoning with that and also they are in love forever <3 but alas what do I expect from films… much less old ones… also like the specific ways he is mean in those two really get me like he’s truly brutal to Alicia for noooo reason when she’s doing so so much for him and constantly at risk. he’s just always like you suck you’re nothing. and in suspicion he’s like hmm you know what’s fun lying all the time to make you mad or scared and then being like you’re crazy calm down love you when she does!!!)
