I'm forgotten as soon as I'm gone. I'm replaced and no one notices. I'm seen as weird and foolish for trying to help people. I have no friends who knew me well enough to notice any changes. My sense of justice is consistently exploited by others to get what they want.

I try to believe that people in my canon were different. I really do. But sometimes, canon makes that really hard.

i wish i would yell and scream and cry and demand they apologize. i wish i would point out how many times someone could've just looked a little closer. i wish i would fight and argue and stop letting everyone act like after it all, i was the suspicious one, when i was the person who was replaced with no one noticing.

but i can't. i don't blame any of you, despite the times i wish i did. i can't blame the people who thought i was too stupid to be important, i can't blame the people who never noticed me, i can't blame the people who had no time for me, i can't blame anyone.

the only one i blame is myself, which is horrifying, because i remember that there was a monster standing in front of me and i remember how they wore my face as a mask while they did every crime they committed. it was not my fault. it couldn't have been my fault. i was literally tied up in a closet.

but i can't even blame that person because every time i think about anyone i should blame i always come back to myself, how i should've been better, how i should've done anything.

i can't blame the people i knew; i don't think they could've known. i can't blame the one who actually hurt me; they were never tried for their crimes against me and i felt my problems were nothing compared to everyone else.

i hate being the guy who's too forgiving to admit it ever hurt.

no one ever pursued what happened to me in canon. i'm not even important enough to get a "WHAAAAAAAAT?!" like literally anything else that's a reveal. canonically, they just moved on right after, using that as evidence, never bothering to think about how someone is dead that they thought they knew for a whole year.

in my canon i didn't die, yes, so it's probably a little different in my case. but if i have to replay that case, if i have to see just how little everyone cared, i know i'll break.

it was cruel and callous. yes, dual destinies has issues, but no one cares about that part. mr. edgeworth's response to finding out the phantom was impersonating me is to insult me. i dont understand.
