The day had been warm, the late autumn air electrified around you as Calum’s hand locked with yours. After spending quite a bit of time indoors today Cal had talked you into a walk around the neighborhood to calm his restlessness, and even though the clouds covering the sky had made you nervous, you agreed and slipped on a pair of sandals.
A wind blew past the two of you on your walk, his hat tilting backwards a bit by the sudden gust as you chuckled.
“Feels like it might rain, we should head home,” you voiced, squeezing his hand as you paused on the sidewalk.
Calum was a couple steps ahead of you, the man pausing when your hand tugged on his. He turned towards you and then looked up, his stubborn nature finally giving in.
“Guess we should,” he agreed, dropping your hand and turning to head back. “Slowly, though, yeah? Still feelin’ kinda funky.”
You nodded and smiled, turning with Cal and letting him take your hand again. It was another quiet stretch as the two of you walked, letting your minds get lost in their own trains of thought until a wet droplet landed on your cheek.
“Huh-” you said softly, reaching up with your free hand to wipe at your cheek. You looked over at Calum and saw him blink as a raindrop landed on his forehead, another landing on your hands as you tugged him forward.
“C’mon, we’re almost home!”
The two of you hurried home, making it within 10 feet of your doorway before the rain started to pour down on you, the chill of the water making you squeal as you hurried to the porch, Calum moving a bit faster than you and tugging you along.
Once you were both safe and under the bit of roof that covered the porch, you started to giggle, looking up at Cal and his drenched curls as they flopped on to his forehead. He had a small smile on his face, something you were very happy to see.
You reached over as he wiped at his face, your hands resting on his cheeks and squishing them a bit. “You look like a little wet puppy dog,” you cooed, giggling as Calum chuckled.
He pulled away, watching the rain come down as you both took the chance to get the excess out of your hair and off your skin. When you both were settled you stood and watched, Cal’s arm snaking around your waist and pulling you close.
You both stood there for a second before Cal suddenly moved, his hand around your waist pulling you forward and into the rain again.
“Calum!” You yelped, the icey cold rain bouncing off your bodies as he laughed. “What are you doing?!”
“Just shut up for a second,” he chuckled, hands on your hips pulling you close until you were right against his chest. Ever the cheesy romantic he leaned in, warm lips meeting yours in a sweet but firm kiss as the rain poured around you.
The electric feeling that had been in the air traveled through your body as you kissed, hands resting on his chest as you leaned against him. A small part of you wanted this more than anything, your heart swelling a bit as he pulled away. Always craving more of his kisses you chased after his lips, a chuckle vibrating in his chest as he gave you another peck.
“Sorry, baby,” he said kindly, a shy smile on his face as he started tugging you back inside. “Just wanted to do that. We can go inside-”
“Calum Thomas, dance in this rain with me right now.”
He grinned, taking your hand and spinning you around. “Your wish is my command.”

“Ready to go?”
Cal’s voice tugged you from your thoughts, your best friend smiling at you as you met his eyes. You smiled back and nodded, picking up your suitcase and heading outside.
You both loaded your things into the backseat of his car before you settled into the passenger seat, Cal going back inside to retrieve Duke before joining you in the drivers seat.
“Got the music ready?” He asked, you answering with a nod. “Alright, then let’s get goin’. Don’t wanna be late for check-in.”
You smiled again and connected your phone, your joint playlist beginning to play over the speakers as you settled back against the seat, Duke already sitting on your lap.
Cal and you had been planning this trip with your friends for what felt like months, the quiet getaway that you all needed to destress from all the things life had been throwing at them. It was the perfect time too, with your job getting busier and busier around the holidays, you were more than overdue for some relaxing time with all your friends.
The drive to Napa Valley was a long one, the world still dark when you decided to leave from Calum’s house. Thankfully, Calum’s driving and the GPS mixed together got you to the resort right on time, Calum rushing himself inside to meet the check-in time for the cabins you had reserved.
Since the other boys had a couple things to finish up, it was just you and Cal for a day or two, the two of you driving out to your shared cabin as you made jokes about having to stay together. Sure, you and Cal had stayed at each other’s homes before, but your nerves still danced around in your belly as he pulled up to your cabin, Duke launching himself from your lap on to the ground the second the door opened.
You laughed and stepped out, Cal already grabbing both of your things and heading to the door. Once unlocked you stepped inside, the warmth of the cabin pulling a sigh out of you.
Calum chuckled at you, earning a look. “Wow, sitting in a car with me for 6 hours is really that bad huh?” He teased, making you laugh.
“Absolutely,” you said. “Worst 6 hours of my life!”
He grinned and laughed, the two of you moving through the cabin and getting settled in. You had been aware of the single bed and had been okay with it, but now that you were actually there, you were nervous to share a bed with your best friend.
The next couple of days passed quietly, the two of you having fun and hanging out while you waited for the others. You noticed a sort of tension building between the two of you after the first night together, but you opted to ignore it, unsure if it was just wishful thinking or a real thing.
Until the third night.
Everyone had just left your cabin, Calum cleaning up as you finished off a drink. His cheeks were a rosy pink from laughter and the drinks, the look a bit funny to your tipsy mind as you stood up.
“Done with that?” He asked as you walked up to him, a giggle being his answer as he chuckled. “Give me that before you drop it.”
His hand closed around yours and you paused, looking at Cal’s face as his eyes met yours. Suddenly you were closer together, Cal’s face leaning to yours until your lips pressed together in a fierce kiss, your fingers tangling themselves in his wild curls as his arms slid around your waist. You melted against him, only pulling away when his teeth harshly tugged on your lip.
You were breathless as he chuckled, his tongue brushed over your lip. “Sorry,” he mumbled. “Couldn’t resist anymore.”
You giggled. “Don’t be,” you answered. “I’ve been waiting for you to do that.”
He grinned, the two of you sharing one more kiss before he released you to finish picking up.
The following morning you were awoken by more kisses, these ones messy and blind as he fumbled to find your lips. You spent your morning like that together, sloppy kisses and shared giggles as you finally got to talk about your feelings for each other. You felt relieved as you both got up to get ready, stealing kisses again and again as you waited for everyone else to show up.
On the final full day there the boys were going on an adventure together, leaving you and the others behind to watch a movie and have a quiet spa day after a week of fun. While the boys walked out Cal came back to you, saying a goodbye and stealing a quick goodbye kiss, neither of you thinking much about it as you watched him go.
When you turned around the others were staring at you, jaws dropped open. You blushed, knowing you had some explaining to do as they all immediately started asking questions. You laughed and shook your head, settling in on the couch and answering all their questions.
When the week was over and you and Cal had packed up, you took a photo of the two of you, Cal pressing a sweet kiss to your cheek while you beamed at the camera. You’d end up keeping that one forever, it being one of many like it at the very same cabin where you shared your first kiss.
It’s been 4 days since you and Calum fought, and the radio silence was starting to become absolutely deafening.
All you wanted was his strong arms wrapped around you, his breath on your neck as he buried his face there, the smell of his clothes enveloping you in an even bigger hug than the one he was physically giving you; all you wanted was him, his giggley laugh that usually became silent when he was really happy, your fingertips tracing his tattoos while you laid in bed together, limbs tangled around each other while he sang you a love song. You missed him desperately.
But that night always comes back, the way his voice sounded when he snapped at you, the exhausted and annoyed frown on his face that dragged all of his beautiful features down. Your voice snapping back, alcohol on your breath as you finally told him everything that was bothering you; thinking about it now, you couldn’t remember what you were so upset about anyway. You just know it broke the most beautiful relationship you had ever been in. It has pushed you away from the love of your life.
Now, it was 2 a.m., your eyes stinging from the tears you had let out earlier as you laid in your best friend’s bed. She had let you stay with her after the fight, giving you her bed as she slept on the couch in her living area. You were even sharing clothes; the idea of walking back into your home with Calum filled you with anxiety, knowing he would be there and knowing you would have to see him. See his face, smell his cologne and hear his voice.
Your mind restless, you threw the covers off, dragging your hands down your face before you looked around the room. Your best friend’s electric piano was in the corner, music stacked high and random papers filled with chords for her favorite songs splayed out everywhere. Before you gave it much thought you swung your legs over the bed, padding over in your bare feet and baggy t-shirt before reaching out and pressing the power button.
The bench was cold against your bare thighs, the cool faux leather almost calming as your hands played over the keys. You hadn’t played in so long, your hands itching to dance over the ivories as you pulled out your phone. You pulled up the only song you had been listening to these days, muscle memory kicking in as you learned all the chords in a short time. You opened your camera, facing it towards you and starting a video recording as you played.
“I’m in my bed,” you sang, your voice a bit rusty from the years of no use. You continued despite that.
“And you’re not here. And there’s no one to blame but my drink and my wandering hands.”
The words of Harry Styles floated from your mouth, the music swelling and falling as you pressed forward. You lost yourself in the sounds, forgetting about the video recording and just letting the music take over. Your own voice surprised you as it quickly warmed up, your hands tense while you played and played; your best friend padded over, rubbing her eyes and smiling as she heard you in her room. She leaned against the doorway, arms folding in front of her as she quietly watched you, just enjoying the sound of your voice.
Once the song was over you held the final chord, letting it ring out around you as you sat there. Tears fell on the keys, the overwhelming numbness taking over shortly after as you stopped the recording. Quickly you posted the first chorus and verse to your Instagram story, typing an i’m sorry on it and praying that Calum wouldn’t see it.
Your best friend quietly moved behind you as you did this, wrapping her arms around your shoulders and watching you caption the video before she silently sat with you. The two of you played and sang until the sun came up and your voices were aching, giggles escaping between songs as the two of you just fell into the music over and over again.
As the sun came through the windows the two of you moved to bed, sharing the soft mattress together like you’ve done a million times before. You both quickly fell asleep, the lack of sleep catching up to you as your eyes fluttered closed.
It was 3 p.m. when you woke up again, your best friend shaking you awake.
“Y/N,” she said, patting your cheek.
“What?” You groaned, burying yourself deeper into the covers until she grabbed your arm and shook you again. Finally getting the message you sat up, your phone being shoved into your hands as you wiped the sleep from your face.
Opened on your screen was Calum’s Instagram page, the sight making you groan. “Why are you-”
“Shut up and watch his story,” she said, reaching over and tapping the colorful circle around his profile photo.
What popped up was Calum, a sad look on his face as he played his guitar in what looked like the living room. His pouty lips were pulled down at the corners, the camera a bit far and the lighting a bit dark but the circles under his puffy eyes were still obvious. The words i’m sorry too sat in a corner, small but readable to you.
His fingers picked the strings of his guitar softly until his voice followed.
“You said you care, and you missed me too…”
Your breath caught in your throat as your actions from the night before came crashing back to you; the plead for him, the caption on your video and the caption on his. Heart swelling, you looked at your best friend, her eyes watching you as Cal’s voice swelled.
“C’mon,” she said as the story closed, tugging you gently off the bed. She tossed some clothes at you. “Get dressed.”
You nodded, confused but listening to her. Once you had clothes on she came back, sitting you down as she brushed out your hair and cooled your undereyes. When she was finished she pulled you up, handing you the bag you had come there with and ushering you out the door. She sat you in her car and started to drive, her plan finally dawning on you as anxiety flared up in you.
The home you shared and created with Calum looked exactly the same; not like it should have changed at all, since you know Calum wouldn’t have done anything, but the sight of it still so perfect against your broken and nervous heart was stark. Without words you got out, bag clutched tightly in your hands as you looked at your best friend. She gestured for you to continue, her butt staying in the car as your feet carried you to the front door.
Your key was in your bag but you opted to knock instead, a hand nervously running through your hair as you waited for the answer.
You blinked and suddenly the door was open, Calum’s tall frame taking up the doorframe. His eyes were rimmed in red and puffy, dark circles hugging the lower lid as he looked at you. His brown eyes were darker than normal, no doubt reflecting how he felt inside.
His eyes were wide as he looked, yours the same size as you both just took each other in. His hair was messy.
“Hi.” You said, your voice hoarse.
“Hi.” His voice was soft, his features lined with sadness.
You tucked some hair behind your ear. “Can we-”
“Yeah,” he answered, stepping aside to let you in. You waved to your best friend, her giving you a nod before heading home.
Once inside you set the bag down, turning around and burying your face in Cal’s chest. His arms immediately found their way around you, his grip tighter than it ever has been as your shoulder shook.
“I’m so sorry,” you choked out, tears already falling down your face. Calum’s chest heaved, a tear hitting the top of your head as he breathed you in. He missed how perfectly you fit against him, how much you smelled like home.
“I’m sorry too,” he sobbed, pressing a kiss to your head before you pulled back enough to look at him. “Can we work this out? Please?”
You nodded, tears spilling down your cheeks again. “I’d really like that,” you said, Calum pulling you back against his chest. He squeezed you until you were both done crying, his hand lifting your chin so he could press a kiss to your forehead. His lips found yours a moment later, his hands on your hips as he still squeezed you.
After you both pulled away he bent down, throwing you over his shoulder as he headed for the stairs. You couldn’t help but laugh, this being your favorite thing. “Calum Thomas!”
A chuckle met your ears as he carried you upstairs. “I missed your laugh, doll. Had to hear it again.”
You giggled, letting him carry you to bed before he covered you in kisses and cuddles.
In your mind, soulmates had always been a platonic idea. It was never something you entertained in a romantic sense, and you were only proved right as each partner you had ended up being the wrong person for you, so why entertain it in the first place? As far as you were concerned, love was a scam, and you were never going to allow that feeling to fill you in a romantic sense ever again.
That is, until you met Calum Hood.
It was an accident when you backed into his bumper on your way home from work, anxiety immediately overwhelming you as you stopped and jumped out, trying to find the owner of the car until giving up and leaving a note with your name and phone number so you could hopefully get in contact for insurance. You didn’t expect to keep in contact once it was all said and done, and you certainly didn’t expect numerous dates he took you on after you had been talking for a bit.
Your first date was a picnic in a small park, both of you providing your favorite food for the other to try as you sat and laughed on a blanket, the sun setting as you lost track of time and talked well into the night, the two of you giggling as you finally noticed how late it was and got back into his car. Much to your surprise he walked you to your door and kissed your cheek as you said your goodbyes, a blush and smile on your face as you stepped inside.
He was your breath of fresh air, his smile and laughter bringing you absolute joy every time you heard it. When you finally made it official he stayed the night, the two of you tangling together underneath the sheets until you fell asleep in each other's arms, your dreams filled with images of him that made your head spin. It became a new normal for you, sleepovers on the weekends and breakfast together on Sundays, always made together while you played whatever music you wanted and danced together. You always started and ended each meal with a kiss, even when you had to eat together over FaceTime, Calum usually sitting in a hotel room or in a corner of the bus as he smiled at you through your phone screens.
For once you truly understood the idea of a romantic soulmate. Calum was everything you wanted and more, often becoming your biggest fan and comfort when you needed it. Something you loved about him more than anything was the way he would sing to you when you had trouble sleeping, his sweet voice serenading you with whatever love song was in his head while his fingers played with your hair, the mix of the two your favorite solution to your sleepless nights. On the nights when he was traveling you simply called him, his voice soothing you to sleep from miles away until you were dreaming, his voice pausing and letting out a chuckle before he said goodnight and hung up.
Towards one of these particular traveling periods you had woken up later than you had planned, looking at the clock and flying out of bed to quickly shower and then get dressed before Calum came home. The two of you had been together for over two years now, your anniversary having been celebrated while he was on the road, and you wanted to surprise him with a meal when he walked in the door so he could relax.
You got to the kitchen and was startled when you saw a man sitting at the island, Duke sleeping in his lap as breakfast sat on the counter. You grinned as you got closer, Calum turning when he heard you moving. His eyes were bloodshot and tired but he grinned, picking up Duke as he stood and putting him on the ground. When you were close enough he grabbed you and pulled you close, his arms sliding around your waist as he leaned down to kiss you.
Seeing him gave you butterflies, his smile and touch sending electricity through your body as you melted against his chest. You wrapped your arms around his neck as he tightened his grip around you and lifted you up, breaking the kiss as you laughed and wrapped your legs around him. He spun the two of you around before he set you down again, his hand against your hip as you took in the spread on the counter.
“Good morning, sleepyhead,” he teased you, his voice tired and a bit husky. You swatted his shoulder lightly as he laughed, kissing your temple sweetly as he sat back down.
“What are you doing home so early?” You asked, still shocked that he was here in the first place.
He smiled at your question, tugging you closer by your shirt. “I missed you too much. Had to get home sooner to see my beautiful girl.”
You blushed at his words and smiled, burying your face against his neck and taking a deep breath, your lungs filling with his scent until you sighed. “I missed you so much. I’m so glad you’re here, even if it does ruin my plans.”
Calum laughed at that, gently tilting up your head to press another kiss to your lips. “Sorry, bug,” he said sweetly, lips connecting with your forehead before you pulled away.
“Well, since you brought breakfast,” you teased, moving to get a plate for you both. “I guess I can forgive you this time.”
He grinned at your teasing, the two of you sitting and enjoying breakfast before sneaking up to your shared bedroom, your teasing heating as you went a few rounds before collapsing against each other.
The days following Calum’s homecoming were full of bliss, the two of you spending much needed time together whenever it was possible. You noticed he had started waking up before you, something he almost never did after a tour, but you pushed it to the back of your mind, focusing on how happy you were to have him home with you again instead.
A month after he came home Calum woke you up with kisses, Duke quickly joining the two of you as you giggled.
“Good morning,” you said through the giggles, Duke whining as he tilted his head. You laughed, scratching his head until Calum scooped him up and put him on the floor, your boyfriend turning back to you to give you another kiss.
“Mornin’,” he mumbled, a smile on his face. “C’mon, up, we have things to do today.”
You raised an eyebrow but sat up, watching as Calum stood and walked out of the room with Duke trailing behind him. You sighed and got out of bed, quickly getting in the shower and taking your time getting ready. While you were in the bathroom Calum went into your closet and pulled out some clothes for you to wear, laying them out once he had made the bed for you. When you stepped out in your towel you were surprised, Cal pressing a kiss to your cheek before he stepped into the bathroom and took over the mirror.
You pulled on the clothes he laid out and inspected the outfit in the mirror, a small smile playing at your lips as you silently approved and moved on to put on your makeup.
Once both of you were ready Calum got Duke on a leash, the three of you leaving the house together and getting in the car. Cal had been quiet about his plans for you, but you could tell he was nervous; the way his fingers bounced on the steering wheel and his eyes flicked between the GPS on his phone and the road gave it away, his thumbs dancing across the screen once he had pulled in and parked.
Your heart melted when you realized you were at the park, your mind flashing back to your first date in the very same location. The three of you got out and Calum started walking with you, his hand closed around yours as Duke trailed behind, his little legs staying close to his dad for most of the walk.
After a few minutes you noticed some figures in the distance, a picnic table all set up as people moved around it. As you got closer you realized it was your friends and the boys, everybody chatting and laughing while music played over a speaker. You grinned, looking over at Calum as he watched you.
“What is this?” You asked, laughing as your friends all saw you coming. Andy was off to the side, snapping photos like crazy as you did so.
“Just something I wanted to do for you,” he said sweetly, squeezing your hand as he gently pulled you along.
You walked up and hugged all your friends, everybody complimenting your outfit as Calum chuckled at your side. The boys gently guided him away, Duke following him as your friends brought you to the picnic table, which you see now was covered in all your favorite foods, the drinks all off to the side in a cooler. You sat and watched as your best friend piled a plate with food for you, handing it over as Calum sat beside you, your favorite soda in his hand as he slid an arm around your waist.
He was beaming, his smile bright enough to light up even the darkest part of the world as he pressed a kiss to your temple.
“Calum, what is all this?” You asked, absolutely speechless as your friends all mingled together.
Cal smiled, giving you a squeeze. “You do so much and never ask for anything in return,” he said softly, meeting your eyes. “So I wanted to do something for you.”
Tears pricked your eyes as he spoke, the gesture truly the kindest thing anybody could have done for you. Calum chuckled and pressed a kiss to your lips before he kissed your forehead.
The day passed quickly as everybody talked and danced together, all of them having a great time getting to know each other as the sun set, Andy snapping photos of everybody like his life depended on it. As it got darker Ashton started a fire in a nearby pit, Calum tugging you over there as Michael picked up Duke, smothering the small dog in kisses as Cal pulled you away from your friends.
A giggle left you as he pulled you close and kissed you, the fire crackling beside you as it burned up the piece of wood inside of it. When Cal pulled away you saw the nerves written on his face, his hands taking yours and holding them tightly between the two of you.
“Sweetheart,” he said softly, his eyes meeting yours again as he spoke. You were confused but said nothing, it being obvious he had something to say.
“Sweetheart,” he repeated, lifting your hands to his lips. “I adore you more than anything in this world. You are...my rock and the biggest and greatest blessing I’ve ever received, and every day I get with you is an absolute gift.”
Tears welled in your eyes as he spoke, a small chuckle escaping you as you tried to keep them at bay.
He smiled at you, squeezing yours hands gently as he lowered them to chest level. “Coming home to you is something I want to do forever. I can’t imagine having a life without you, and I don’t want to.”
You blinked away your tears as best you could while Cal got down on his knee, dropping your right hand as he reached back into his pocket. He pulled out the most beautiful ring you could have imagined, your breath hitching in your throat.
“You’re my soulmate, my love. Will you do me the honor of marrying me? Will you be my wife?”
You let out a breath you didn’t know you had been holding, your free hand reaching up to wipe away tears.
“Yes, absolutely and always yes.”
Calum grinned, a breath of relief escaping him as he slipped the ring on your finger. You grinned as he stood, his arms wrapping around you in the tightest hug you’ve ever had as your friends cheered behind the two of you. You laughed, tears falling down your cheeks as Calum spun you around, only setting you down again so he could kiss you.
The next thing you knew your friends were running over, Duke still in Michael’s arms as everybody crowded around for hugs and congratulations. You beamed as your best friend hugged you tightly, their thumbs wiping away your tears before they looked at the ring on your finger.
After your magical moment Calum laid out a blanket, the two of you sitting on it as you hung around your friends for a bit longer, sneaking kisses and I love you’s whenever possible. All too soon the fire died, the smoldering embers the only thing lighting up the pit until Ashton carefully covered them up. Everybody said their goodbyes, a few more congratulations heading your way as you, Calum and Duke all went back to the car, your hands locked together like they would be forever.
Once you were home again Calum pulled you in for one more long kiss, his hands locked together against your back as yours rested on his chest. When you pulled away your foreheads rested together, both of you giggling a bit.
“I love you,” Calum whispered, his breath tickling your lips as you smiled.
description: calum hood x dancer!reader. cal sees you dance and immediately becomes obsessed.
word count: 4.4k (i’m sorry jdfg)
warnings: none? some tension but nothing serious.
w/n: this was a requested piece! thank u to the anon who requested it ❤️ also, for your viewing pleasure, please enjoy this video of Youngblood choreography since it’s mentioned in the piece itself; full credit to Brinn Nicole Choreography for that! and thank u to everyone who had to listen to me talk about this for 24 hours (u know who u are), y’all are the real ones 🥺
Jojo’s voice echoed through the room, all eyes turning to you as the choreographer lifted a finger and gestured for you to come over.
Once you were close enough, the winning smile on Jojo’s face was full of mischief. “You got this choreo down?” When you nodded she started to move, scooting past you towards the phone connected to the speaker system. “Then it’s your turn. Solo.”
You chuckled, getting into the starting position as Tim’s camera focused on you. A hush fell over the room as the air settled, giving Jojo a nod right before the music started.
And suddenly, you were transformed, the movements you had been practicing all day coming to life as the music swirled around you. You weren’t in LA anymore; you weren’t even sure if you were yourself. All you knew was the tempo and dynamics of the lyrics, the emotions of the song becoming your own as a story was told with each movement.
From a young age, it had been clear to your family that you were passionate about dancing. After expressing your disinterest in sports and academics, your parents were dumbstruck; they had genuinely thought you would like at least one of those things, considering your mother was the brains and your father was the stay-at-home-brauns. However, after one particular year of taking you to see a ballet, they quickly noticed the shine in your eyes as the dancers floated across the stage, beaming grins on their faces as they signed you up for dance classes the very next day.
Over the years, you learned everything you could from different genres of dance, your body becoming fluent in the languages as you grew up. You walked in eight counts, elegance trailing just behind you everywhere you went as you moved. It took everything within you to not dance down the hallways at school, practicing whatever routine was giving you a hard time as you went from class to class.
After graduating high school, your family moved to LA for better work opportunities; you quickly found a community of dancers you loved and fell in with them, moving into a house with some of them and attending all the workshops they did. When they all started getting big name jobs it didn’t bother you, instead pushing you forward until you were just as talented as they were.
Now, you were well known with the community. Choreographers like Jojo Gomez and Kyle Hanagami sought you out for their workshops, sometimes even asking you to learn choreo ahead of time to demonstrate to everyone at the shops. Tim Milligram quickly became a friend of yours as well, as he was almost always at the workshops, sparkling lenses capturing everything before he posted the edited videos on YouTube.
Where you were now was where you had dreamed of being as a child. It wasn’t worldwide fame like some people wanted, but it was more than enough for you. To some, you were a nobody, but to the ones that mattered, you were equivalent to the Queen of England, and that was everything for you.
As you finished the routine applause broke out around you, your friends all throwing hair ties and shoes at you to celebrate how well you had done. As you came down from the performance high, Jojo almost tackled you in a tight hug, laughter escaping both of you as you caught yourself before you stumbled back.
“Jesus,” Jojo breathed, pulling back and cupping your face in her hands. “How have you not started teaching these things yourself?”
You beamed, Jojo’s arm moving around your shoulder as she guided you away. She called the next dancer up and grabbed her phone again as you sat down with your friends, eyes trained on the dancer as you took in every move.
At the end of the workshop you gathered up all your things and walked out with your friends, the nearest diner calling your names as you all laughed and joked around. Your usual routine for this eventually brought you all back to your home, each of you taking turns showering and settling in for the rest of the night.

The tour bus bumped over another pothole, the uneven cement rattling Calum awake for the upteenth time that evening. He sighed and dragged his hand down his face, officially giving up on any amount of sleep as he turned to his back.
His hand landed on his phone and lifted it to his face.
1:47 a.m.
He held in a groan as he grabbed his AirPods, slipping them into his ears and drowning out the sounds of the bus as it moved. He left his phone plugged in and opened his YouTube app, hoping that maybe some of the channels he was subscribed to had uploaded new videos he could binge until they reached their destination. However, in his sleepy state, he tapped the wrong video, a beat starting over his headphones as his brow furrowed in confusion.
Calum was about to exit the video when he saw the dancers, eyes captivated by their movements as the first group faded in. His mouth dropped open at some of the talent he was seeing, eyes locked on one dancer in particular during a solo performance.
It was obvious to Calum this dancer had invested in the music, the way they moved bringing emotions out of the man as he focused intently on their body. Now invested in watching more of these videos, he let this one play out, letting YouTube autoplay to the next one as he kept his phone close to his face.
Hours passed with Calum trying to find more videos with this dancer in it, finally finding one that he watched a second time. This time, they were in heels, the sweet sounds of Niall Horan’s Slow Hands playing against his eardrums as they moved so elegantly.
Lucky for him, his video finally had the Instagram handle for this dancer he was now obsessed with, the man immediately switching apps and bringing up their profile.
They were genuinely stunning in the photos they would post, his thumbs slowly scrolling through most of the photos on their profile before he finally gave them a follow. He knew some fans would see that and make assumptions, but he didn’t care; he wanted to see more of this person and their talents, wanted to consume all forms of media they were on just to see them move.
“Calum.”
The man jumped at the sound of Luke’s voice, pulling out an AirPod as he tugged the curtain to his bunk aside. The tall blonde was leaning over and yawning, running a hand through his hair.
“We’re stopping, mate,” he said, Calum now hearing the sounds of Michael and Ashton shifting in their beds. “Need anything, better get it now.”
Cal nodded, climbing out of his bunk and giving a big stretch before pulling on some sweatpants. He climbed out of the bus and found Michael waiting for him, the usual routine whenever they made a stop.
“Hey, Mike,” Cal said, nudging his best friend as he unlocked his phone and showed him the Instagram page he still had open.
His best friend took his phone and raised an eyebrow as he scrolled down the page, opening some of the photos and giving them a look before he handed the device back. “They’re cute. You followed them?”
Calum nodded as Michael grinned, giving him a nudge with his elbow. “Trying to make a move, pal? Get yourself a little someone?”
Calum chuckled, shaking his head as he nudged Michael back. “I don’t think so, Mike, just think they’re talented. Wanna keep up with that.”
Michael nodded and wiggled his eyebrows, making Calum shove him playfully as he broke into a laugh.
“What’s goin’ on up there?” Ashton called from behind them as Luke trailed behind him. Michael turned around, walking backwards as he spoke.
“Cal’s got a crush on a dancer!” he yelled back, making Calum groan.
“It’s not a crush!”
“Whatever you say, mate!”

“Jade,” you called, your phone shifting slightly in its place. “What do you want for dinner?”
Your Instagram live audience immediately started to chime in with suggestions as you picked up your phone, holding it out in front of you as you read the suggestions.
Your best friend came out of her room and followed you, half of her now in view of the audience as you moved into the kitchen. “Someone’s suggested we order out instead of making something, but where’s the fun in that?”
Jade chuckled as she started rummaging through the cabinets, taking in everything they had before she turned around and looked at you. “That might be a good idea,” she said, gesturing to the nearly empty cabinets.
“Oh shit,” you sighed, putting a hand on your hip. “You’re right. Take out it is!”
Jade chuckled as she picked up her phone, already dialing your favorite place and putting in an order for the two of you as you made faces at your audience.
It was a quiet night and you had been bored, the Instagram live feature staring you in the eyes as you finally decided to just do it. You had taken the time beforehand to look cute but comfy, hoping the cute man that had followed you a few months ago now would join.
The notification had confused you. You weren’t sure who Calum Hood was at first, noticing the blue check next to his name as you did your investigation into his Instagram profile. After a quick Google search, however, you quickly learned everything you needed to know about him; his band had written one of your favorite dance songs and a few others you had put on your driving playlist that you vibed with the most.
So, that mixed with how attractive you found him to be, you obviously had to follow him back.
He didn’t post much and you were fine with that, always knowing when he was online by the comments he would leave when you posted a new photo or video. It was normally a cheeky comment followed by a set of emojis, something that always brought a light blush to your cheeks and giggles from your friends.
Whenever he posted, you always did the same, both of you liking and commenting on photos relentlessly. You kept up with his band through his stories, even popping in on the livestream on release day just to see him dancing with his dog.
He was absolutely adorable, and while you wanted to reach out and say hi in private, you knew he probably wouldn’t even see it; besides, he’s a rockstar and you’re a dancer. Talk about being worlds away, right?
Right?
Suddenly, you snapped back to reality, a name appearing in the stream of comments that made your heart skip. You quickly grabbed a piece of paper and wrote down the news, being careful to hide it from the camera as you slid it across the counter to Jade.
He’s in the live, and said I look cute.
She picked up the note and raised an eyebrow out of view of the camera, a devilish grin on her lips as she immediately opened her phone.
“What are you doing?” You asked her, standing up straight as soft music started playing over the speakers in your living area.
Jade grabbed your hand and your livestream, dragging you both into the room. “I want to teach you and your livestream a new choreo I’m working on. Maybe you can even help me make it better.”
You scoffed at that, knowing her undeniable talent as she set everything up. The song was Youngblood, the smooth notes practically fogging up the windows on their own as you started to learn.
With a quick break for food once it arrived, you and Jade taught your livestream how to dance, laughter and music taking over both of you until you finally ended your live.
You were covered in sweat, the soft sheen of it against the lights in your home obviously as your chest heaved.
“Did you really need help with that choreo?” You asked Jade, your friend sprawled out in a starfish against the floors.
She flashed you a smile. “Absolutely not,” she stated, sitting up. “But lover boy was watching, and he needs to know you have sex appeal.”
You coughed, choking on a bit of spit at her words. “Jade!” You said, your best friend cackling as she scrambled up to her feet.
“Love you!” She said as you chased her away, the woman dipping into her room and locking the door behind her.
You groaned, blushing deeply as you hid yourself away in your room.

Tour life had become routine for Calum, as it always does, but the nights off always left him a bit bored. Being in strange cities left him without much to do this close to the end of tour, but he thoroughly enjoyed opening your livestream and watching you laugh.
Michael must have been a psychic, cause what started as an appreciation for your talents has become much more than that. When you laughed he felt himself smiling, his eyes crinkling as they do whenever he got to hear you speak. He was crushing hard, his post notifications on for the dancer he had fallen for over the months as he kept himself busy with his passion and job.
When he saw the notification of your livestream he immediately jumped in, joining and smiling immediately as he saw your face fill his phone screen.
You were smiling at your friend, resting your cheek against your hand as you leaned on what looked like a kitchen counter. You were looking absolutely adorable, the smile on Calum’s face hardly fading as he gained the confidence to send a comment.
He saw your eyes light up as you looked at your screen, the expression on your face making his heart skip while his own eyes traced the shape of your face. You scribbled something down and passed it to your friend, the two of you then shifting to the living area where the phone was set up to expose the extra space around you.
His eyes stayed locked on your body as you moved, fluidity and grace in each step as you were taught a new dance. The tones of the music brought out in your dancing brought a slight blush to his cheeks as you put the whole thing together. The dance itself was sultry, but when you moved to it, the tempo took on a whole new heartbeat, and suddenly the song was so much better in Calum’s mind.
It felt like it was too soon when you finished, bowing to your friend as she grinned wildly. Calum’s palms were a little bit sweaty as he watched you move closer to the camera, the live ending soon after as you moved on with your life.
The images of you moving still floated through Calum’s mind, his memory fixated on it as he finally opened up his Instagram DM’s.
Your username popped up immediately when he started a new conversation, his first message being typed out effortlessly by his thumbs.
Saw your live tonight, he typed. Thanks for dancing to our song.
It was simple enough, he thought, but hoped you wouldn’t think it was too simple; nerves danced along his muscles as he pressed send, his words to you now being sent through a series of ones and zeros as he quickly locked his phone and pushed it away. Now that he had made the move he was terrified of your response, the man trying to distract himself as he climbed out of his bunk and hunted down Michael.
His best friend was sitting on the bus couch, scrolling through whatever social media platform as Cal plopped down beside him.
“You talk to that dancer yet?” Michael asked immediately, hardly glancing up from his phone as Calum chuckled.
“You need to stop reading my mind,” he scolded gently. “Yeah, I, uh, just messaged them actually. They danced to Youngblood on a livestream.”
Michael looked at Calum and wiggled his eyebrows. “And judging by the blush on your face I’d say it was a good performance.”
Calum’s blush only deepened as Michael laughed, a light ping of Cal’s phone interrupting their conversation.
Michael stood and grabbed the phone as Calum froze in place, placing it on the couch beside his best friend before he sat down again.
“Answer it.”
“But-”
“Calum Thomas, you answer that lovely person right this second or I’ll do it for you.”
The magic words made Calum open his phone, knowing if Michael had to answer the message he would never be able to show his face around you. Nervous butterflies exploded in his stomach as he opened your response, Michael reading over his shoulder.
Well hello, handsome. Thanks for writing such a good song, hahaha. It’s one of my favorites!
“Well, mate,” Michael said, grinning as he slapped Calum on the back. “Looks like you can handle it.”

Your new video was incredible, how long did that take? You’re amazing!
Calum’s newest message to you made you smile, sweat making your hair cling to your forehead as you typed out a quick response.
Thanks, I had quite a good muse for that one ;)
Oh really? Must be a lucky muse if they inspire something so beautiful.
A heavy blush landed on your cheeks as you typed back a response, the click of someone’s fingers gaining your attention as you hit send.
“I know that’s not a phone out,” Kyle scolded gently, a sheepish smile pulling on your lips.
“Sorry Kyle, I’m putting it away now,” you promised, thumbs typing a quick message to Calum before burying the device deep within your bag.
It’s been about a month or two since Calum first messaged you, the banter and flirting starting immediately as you both finally got to have the private conversations you had been dreaming of. At times it would inch away from the innocent compliments and small talk to something sexier, but you both kept yourselves as appropriate as possible - sometimes.
Now, as Kyle reeled you back in to finish teaching the new choreo he had worked on, your mind wandered to Calum’s real thoughts about your IGTV video you had posted hours before.
Hearing Wildflower for the first time had sent you directly to the empty dance studio your parents had built you at their place, your feet and body taking almost no time to settle in as you started hammering out a choreo to Calum’s melody. You had been up all night doing it, barely making it to Kyle’s class on time as notifications from Instagram started pouring in, praises about your technique and song choice washing over you.
However, something tugged within you when you saw Calum’s message. It was different coming from him for some reason, and it filled you with a mix of excitement and pleasure; it was a weird mix for you, something you hadn’t ever truly felt before, but you hesitantly welcomed it with open arms.
The class passed by slower than you wanted, each time you ran through the choreography only taking up the smallest bit of time as you anxiously waited for the clock to strike 4 so you can open your messages again and talk to him.
Finally, your magical moment arrived when you could pack up and leave, Kyle giving you a big hug and saying his thanks before you started to hurry out the door.
“Hey!” Kyle called after you, making you pause in the doorway and spin around. He had a grin on his face. “Hope this guy is a good one.”
You beamed and laughed. “I think he is. Thanks, Kyle.”
He smiled and waved as you turned around again and bolted to your car, locking the doors as soon as they had shut as you opened up your messages from Calum.
He had sent a cheeky reply to your message earlier, followed by a video sent to you. With captured breath you tapped on the message, the video unfolding before you.
It was focused on his feet as he walked over shiny white tile, the camera panning up to expose the interior of LAX - or that’s what the location filter said, at least. You felt a grin crack open your face as you quickly realized what this meant.
Calum was home from tour.
Your thumbs started to type faster than you thought they could.
You’re home!
Almost immediately, the little bubble appeared.
Home, and ready to see you if you’re up for it.
Butterflies exploded in your stomach as you typed an affirmative message, both of you quickly setting up a time and place before you drove back to your home.
“Jade!” You yelled as you stepped inside, dropping your bag at the door while you quickly slipped off your shoes.
Your friend's head poked out from around a corner as you started shedding clothes, her hand immediately flying to cover her eyes as she yelped. “Whoa, where’s the fire?! Why are you undressing in the middle of the house?”
“I have a date.” You stated, stopping just outside of your door as you turned to face her. “With Calum. And I need you to pick my outfit while I shower!”
Jade uncovered her eyes and beamed, immediately following you into your room while you ducked into your private bathroom. While you had your shower, Jade was yelling questions to you, the two of you plotting and planning until you finally stepped out and pulled on the clothes she had decided on.
Your light blue jeans and white crop top were the perfect amount of casual, a light sprinkle of shiny jewelry being thrown in until Jade gave you the approval. When you checked the time on your phone, you nodded, standing and thanking her profusely as you finally went out the door and into your car again.
By now, the sunshine of LA was changing colors, shedding the harsh tone of the day for the warmth of dusk that was soon to come. The coffee shop Calum had chosen was perfect, too, the dwindling sunlight being perfect as you sat in a chair just outside the shop.
You anxiously looked around while you waited, playing with some of the rings around your fingers as you waited patiently for your date to arrive. Is this really even a date? You thought, suddenly panicking about how you looked. What if this is just a casual-
“This seat taken?”
His voice took you by surprise, your eyes trailing upwards to meet the warm, smiling brown ones of Calum Hood.
You smiled a little bit, leaning your elbows on the table. “Well I was saving it for a cute boy,” you teased. “But I guess you can sit as well.”
Calum gave you a look of mock hurt. “Ouch, right in the ego,” he teased back, slowly reaching across the table to take your hand. “Nice to finally meet you in person.”
He spoke as he lifted your hand to his lips, pressing a sweet and seductive kiss to your knuckles as his gaze held you captive. You blushed deeply, smiling in an attempt to cover it.
“And the same for you,” you said softly, smiling as he held on to your hand.
The two of you sat there and chatted as the sun set around you, the cool of the evening wrapping around you as you got lost in Calum’s words. Conversation came easily with him, both of you feeling like you had already known each other for so much longer than reality; something with the two of you just worked, and you loved being able to lose track of time with him.
Honestly, it was far too easy for you to lose yourself in his very being, but you decided not to focus entirely on that.
When the quiet and kind barista came out to put up the tables and chairs, you apologized profusely, Calum chuckling as he stood up. You quickly followed after him, the two of you apologizing again before starting to walk away, Calum’s hand slipping easily around your own while you blushed.
The two of you slowly walked back to your cars together, a comfortable silence settling in as you made your way to your cars. He walked you right up to your drivers side door, the man smiling sheepishly as he looked at you.
“Thanks for being willing to meet with me,” he said sweetly, bringing your joined hands up to his chest. He held them there, right next to his heart, which you could feel beating against your knuckles. “I’m glad you didn’t think I was a serial killer or something.”
You laughed, shaking your head. “And I’m glad you didn’t think I was a catfish,” you joked, Calum smiling and laughing.
When you both settled down again your gazes met, another blush coating your cheeks as he leaned down. His lips connected with your cheek quickly, the man standing up straight again as he released your hand.
While you were sad that he let you go, you knew it was time for you to go home; it was getting late, and you had a workshop to be at in the morning, your mind still racing as you dug out your keys and unlocked your car.
Calum pulled the door open for you, letting you slide in as he leaned against the top of the door.
“Will we be able to see each other again?” He asked softly, his chin resting on his arm as he draped it over the door.
You thought for a second, making a bit of a face. “I guess so, but I’ll have to have my people call your people.”
Calum grinned, chuckling at your teasing. “Well my people will be anxiously awaiting your people.” He took a second after he finished speaking, getting a serious look on his face as he looked at you. “I’d like to see you again, though. Maybe for dinner?”
You smiled, reaching up to take his hand. “I would love that,” you said, giving his fingers a squeeze as he brought them to his lips again.
He smiled and let you settle in, carefully closing the door for you before he stepped back a bit. He watched you go, making sure you were able to pull onto the roads okay before he got into his own vehicle.
Once Calum’s driver seat door had closed, he pulled out his phone, immediately pulling up the group text with his bandmates.

Could you PLEASE do “There’s people here” and “How quickly can you cum” with Calum 🥺🥵 ilysm
The day was hot, you and Cal opting to stay inside in your air conditioned home and be a little lazy. In the cool sunshine the two of you stole kisses and I love you’s while your legs tangled together under the sheets, Calum eventually letting his hands wander to lead you to your favorite acitivity together.
When Cal reminded you that the boys and their lady friends were coming over you groaned a little, wanting your lover all to yourself, but you accepted the reality and started getting yourself ready.
Eventually the sun fell and Ashton started a fire in the pit, everyone gathering around it as the night quickly cooled. Jokes were shared, and Calum has pulled you into his lap, his hands squeezing your thighs every so often. The movement made you give him a curious look but he only shrugged, kissing you until you forgot about it completely.
However, his innocence was short lived; it wasn’t too long after that his fingers slipped between your thighs, brushing against your clothes core as everybody else chatted, paying you two no mind.
After concealing your hitching breath you adjusted, being sure to wiggle right against his lap as you did so. Cal cleared his throat behind you and you were satisfied, stopping your movements just as quickly as you had started them.
It took him one second to find your core again, this time applying pressure and dragging a finger down the center of it. You felt his chest vibrate with a chuckle as he felt how wet you were even through your clothes.
“Cal.” You breathed, shifting so you could see his face. Your voice lowered, making sure you were the only two to hear your words. “There’s people here.”
He gave you a smirk, moving to kiss your neck as the others laughed at something Ashton said.
“How quickly can you cum?” He asked, voice low as his lips brushed against your ear.
You shivered, Luke taking notice and asking if you wanted to go inside. Using it as an excuse you quickly confirmed and stood up, saying your goodnights while Cal said he’d go tuck you in.
Once in your shared bedroom he pressed you against the wall, the door barely falling closed behind you as he kissed you.
“So,” he said taking your hands and sliding them above your head until they were pined against the wall. “How fast can we be?”
number 45 from the smut prompts with calum pls 🥺💕 i love ur writing !

45. “I could just pull your bikini bottoms to the side, no one will notice.”
****
Summer was in full swing now, as evident by the amount of sweat there was on your body and the ice cold drink in your hand.
It was another pool party, someone from the label inviting Calum and you to their beautiful home and vast pool. You had even gone out and bought a new bikini, one that Calum had been eyeing since the moment you put it on at his place.
The feeling was mutual, your eyes stuck on him as he hoisted himself out of the pool, water dripping off of his body in such a way that forced you to bite your lip to keep yourself from making any noises. Lucky for you, you were the only person on your side of the pool, everybody gathering around a fire pit or inside as the sun began to set.
Cal grabbed his towel and made his way over to you, shaking his hair off right over you as you squealed.
“Cal!” You giggled, your boyfriend sitting next to you on your chair. He patted his lap and you obliged, his lips pressed a kiss to your own.
A finger slid under the string of your bottoms, your own swatting him away.
“Calum Thomas,” you scolded softly, glancing over at the group by the fire. There was just one couple there, the two of them cuddling on a blanket while everyone else moved the party inside. “Someone’s going to catch us.”
Cal smirked, his lips moving to your neck and leaving wet, open mouth kisses against your skin. “I could just pull your bikini bottoms to the side,” he suggested, your teeth dragging your bottom lip. “No one will notice.”
You glanced back at the couple, the embers of the fire glowing just past them. The music inside was thumping, and there wasn’t anything outside to bring another person out there.
“Please baby,” he pouted, turning your gaze back to him. “You’re so sexy in this bikini, but I can’t rip it off of you right now.”
You giggled, the sound turning into a gasp a his fingers brushed over your core. “Okay, but quickly.”
He grinned, kissing your neck again as his hand slipped between your thighs again, sliding aside your bottoms as his fingers got to work.
Your noises were concealed by his lips, his praises of you being whispered in between kisses as he worked you over. His fingers pumped subtly, but they were still as intoxicating as usual, leaving you ever desperate for more.
Suddenly he pulled his fingers out, covering your whine and complaint as he greeted a friend. You cuddled against his chest and tried to act natural, but when his friend walked away, you crashed your lips together.
“Backseat,” you begged, Calum grinning at the neediness in your tone. “Please.”

Calum was late getting home, no doubt losing track of time at Luke’s house while you sat up in bed with a good book. It hadn’t expected to wait for him to get home, but apparently your mind had other plans; you couldn’t shut it off, and you felt like it was running a million miles an hour.
The latch of the door downstairs caught your attention, pausing in your reading to watch as Duke got up and trotted towards it, Cal’s coos to his dog warming your heart. You went back to reading, hearing Calum make his way to you.
The bed dipped as he crawled up to you, arms wrapping around you as he kissed your forehead. “Hey,” he said softly. “It’s late, why are you awake?”
“Can’t sleep,” you responded, eyes not leaving the page you were on as his lips moved to your cheek, then to your jaw.
“Well,” he said, attached his lips to the sweet spot behind your ear. “If you can’t sleep...then how about we have sex?”
You chuckled, always loving how bold your boyfriend was. “I would love that,” you said, turning the page in your book as Cal groaned.
“Put that thing away,” he pleaded, readjusting so he was between your arms. His face filled your vision and you giggled, his lips interrupting the sound as they captured your own.
When he pulled away you tucked your bookmark into the book, setting it aside as he grinned wildly. “Now that I have your attention,” he started, hands traveling down the sides of your body. “I’d like to fuck you.”
A laughed bubbled out of you, Calum’s own joining yours as he moved down your body. It was a night full of laughter, love, and a lot of kisses, your goofy boyfriend always making it fun for you.
