How well would each Signalis unit or character raise a feral kitten?
Now this is trickier to answer because feral cats are of course distinct from strays - whereas stray cats have probably interacted with humans at some point and under the right circumstances can even be adopted, feral cats avoid people and can't be easily reintegrated. That being said, kittens born to feral cats can be socialized and potentially adopted into a loving home, but properly socializing a kitten takes time and patience. In this case, let's assume the feral kitten in question is only a few weeks old and doesn't have a mother to take care of it.
An Eule would probably be the best in this regard. She'll fall right in love with a cute mewing little fuzzball, but she won't scoop it up and take it home right away; she lets the kitten get used to her first by way of talking softly, reaching her hand out, and offering food; this way the little one will grow accustomed to her voice and scent, possibly touch, and may recognize her as a source of food. Only once the kitten trusts her would the Eule possibly bring it home, but the work doesn't stop there! Being taken to an unfamiliar place can be scary, so it takes an adjustment period for the kitten to be comfortable with their new home, but an Eule caretaker is patient. It may not take long at all before the kitten feels right at home.
Maybe an Ara would also be a good option here; she could relate to a cat's natural tendency to slip into a safe space like under a couch or inside a box and is equally patient. She might need to change what type of plants she takes care of depending on what she's growing, since some plants and flowers are toxic to cats; lilies are a no-go! Orchids would be safe while still adding lovely colors to an Ara's home, and she would keep cat grass for her new pet to snack on once it's old enough. Growing vegetables may be more difficult if the kitten is mischievous enough to try digging them up, and the Ara might want to be careful if she decides to dabble in growing catnip, though...
Mynahs aren't supposed to have cat plushies, but seeing as persona degradation isn't the boogieman one might think it is it may be safe for a Mynah to care for a kitten; however, every precaution has to be taken into account because of how massive she is compared to a tiny kitty. In this case, she'll have to get help from a smaller unit like an Eule or Ara. But once they get used to each other, the Mynah and kitten will be inseparable companions - and the kitten will adore the plethora of soft plushies to play with and nap on!
Kolibri might also be a good caretaker; cats and libraries are a delightful combination, after all. It might be more challenging depending on the cadre's specific personalities (personality? singular? because hive mind??) but it probably won't be hard for them to call up a "friendlier" Replika unit for advice, or even "enlist" the assistance of a veterinarian. But once they get the hang of things, the cadre will work together in ensuring their kitten has everything it needs to be happy and healthy. Ask a Kolibri what their definition of a good day is, and they'll describe a warm rainy day where they can kick back in their favorite chair with a steamy cup of tea, a good book, and a cat curling up in their lap.
Stars might seem like they'd get along well with cats due to their laidback nature, but she'll be PANICKING because some Stars might actually get along better with dogs, so she'll have no damn idea what to do when the Cat Distribution System bequeaths a kitten to them, and she can't just leave the poor thing to its own devices with no mama cat in sight! Plus, she'll have to make sure her gun(s) are safely locked away because what if something happens to the kitten?! WHAT DO?! If the Star has a relationship with an Eule, then she's likely to charge right to her girlfriend's place in an anxious frenzy and just word-vomits about the feral kitten in her hands (and bapping at her straps) because "THIS IS NOT A SHEPARD. THIS IS NOT A MALINOIS. WHAT DO I DO."
A Storch is somewhere between a Kolibri and a Star in this case, provided she's been well-trained by a Star officer. Definitely more of a dog person, but she might get along well with a cat if she's got the right attitude, help, and resources to care for a kitten. There's a chance she and the kitten might get along due to the shared reputation cats and Storches have for being assholes, and the Storch may even nod in approval if her kitten scratches somebody. Even better, depending on the kitten's breed it may actually enjoy water which synergizes nicely with a Storch's love for baths... and now I have the mental image of a Storch huddled up in a bath, holding a kitten with a "hat" of soap bubbles on its head. It's really cute.
An Elster may be wary of cats at first, since cats hunt birds and they're good at being sneaky, but she can get along with one surprisingly well. It'll be more difficult for her to raise a feral kitten, since she may not have the know-how needed and that will require Social Interaction to get the advice needed, but if the Elster genuinely wants to she'll suffer through the dreaded Talking With People if it means this tiny little kitten will be provided for. Once that obstacle is dealt with, they might end up thick as thieves. Cats are smart and can be resourceful, like the Elster's namesake, and they can get along based on those traits alone. Their relationship may start out more of a mutually beneficial one since she's quiet and provides food and gives the cat whatever space it needs, but they can become much friendlier with each other over time.
As mentioned in a previous Replika Cat Ask, taking care of a cat would be amazing for Adlers. These guys are fiends for mental stimulation, and what could be better than learning about kittens and how to raise one, playing with one, and making sure his new companion stays out of trouble? It'll take time to get adjusted between his workload and raising a kitten, but similar to Kolibris he can just "recruit" someone and get information that way. The kitten will be a great benefit for Adler, as giving it scritches and playing with it while dealing with paperwork helps keep him occupied and lets the workday go by faster, and it might even help him become more approachable which will make some aspects of work even easier.
A Falke of course will have access to all the help and resources she'll need to raise a kitten, ensuring her pet will be not just well taken care of, but spoiled rotten. The fact that cats were once worshipped will go nicely with how Falkes are considered gods among Replikas, and it becomes a common sight for someone to enter her office to see not only her, but the kitten perched on her desk dressed up in military regalia, or sitting in her lap while she leisurely pets it. It actually brings to mind the villain with a cat trope, and that can be a benefit if Falke wants something done yesterday; she may even train the kitten so it becomes an effective attack cat should the need arises (and also because she'll think it's hilarious).
