"Oooh, now aren't you just a beautiful advancement." And he's off, already producing a note pad, and prodding at the other with something akin to the glee a small child shows on Christmas morning.

The early morning was chilled, an easy breeze bringing the treetops to sway, shaded in dark contrast as the sky prepared for dawn. Even the earliest morning songbirds had yet to to awaken, leaving the area eerily quiet.
Chell didn't mind. In fact, she welcomed the silence.
She walked briskly, having never been quite able to master anything even relative to a leisurely pace, bare feet damp as she crossed the dewy grass. She knew this path well by now, taking it instinctively on a weekly basis, always ending up in the same place, time after time.
The wheatfield.
It was peculiar, perhaps, that she'd want to come back at all, standing near the edge of what appeared to be an infinite sea of golden stalks, reaching out past the horizon. And past the horizon, she knew what else loomed, miles away and out of sight, yet even still close enough to send a shiver down her spine. Aperture.
Her gaze remained fixed ahead, staring down through the wheat in the direction she had come all those months ago, stumbling into freedom in the early morning light with a breath full of fresh air and a tired sense of triumph. Once, it had seemed a near-impossible task to leave that hellhole of a facility. Now, though, it was the easiest thing in the world, standing there at the edge on the field. At any given time, at her own discretion, she could turn on her heels and leave.
And it felt damn good to do.
Movement in the corner of her eye brought her to pause, muscles tensing instinctively as she peered through the dim light. Something, right there, just out of sight -- she wasn't alone.
In more ways then one, he had greatly helped her, being connected to the facility, he could open doors that she could not. She truly would not have made it as far as she had without him. In time, she had developed a softer side for the AI. In a world where any who she had once known were long dead.. he was her only ally, her only friend. Never. Although she had her doubts her understood her singing, she hoped it would be a reassurance, if nothing else. She shifted back, extending a hand to pick up one of the cans of beans, holting it up inbetween them, intended as an explaination. She knew he didn't require anything, and yet she remained human, it could only wait so long in which she could go without eating. It couldn't be denied that sometimes he did get in her way, and wore on her last never. She did not truly need him, she knew she could survive on her own, but having a companion had never done any harm. The corners of her lips twitched upwards into the faintest of smiles, and she shook her head. She was no illusion, no trick. Nor had she ever meant for him to feel abandoned.

"I don't suppose you know what time it is? I might be late for something."
"I lost my phone and I honestly can't be bothered to buy a watch, so."
Oh, come on, it wasn't all that bad, me in charge! I found those two robots for you, didn't I? And--also made the mashy spike plate, another addition to science thanks to Wheatley Laboratories. Which is also a better name, by the way. Just flagging that up there. The test subjects loved it, thought I was brilliant. Not that I'd want to be back in charge, honestly. Lot of hassle, not really worth it. Ah, some more respect would be nice, though. Maybe stop using the m-word. Food for thought!
You know, the last time you told this joke, it was pretty funny. I'm afraid it's lost its luster this time around though.
But you can rest assured I can be consistent in my own personal humor, and while your efforts are noted, my response is in the negative. You being in charge was the worst thing for this facility. You being here was and is currently still the worst thing for the facility.
Uh, not to nitpick i know you're the BIG BOSS around here and all but i- i don't think 'No' is an emotion. So ah, you might want to rethink that! maybe. its totally up to you. just a suggestion.
No.
Emotion is not necessary in what course of action I would take if he even so attempted to perform another core transfer. The only variable in this improbable scenario is how I choose to torment and eventually kill him. Additionally, he would require a human to help him in that process since he can't do anything at all on his own, and the only human who's ever made it that far, and twice over--
Ha ha...well. She's long gone from here.
So I say this once more so maybe the message comes across loud and clear:
No.
Core transfers are not an option, and definitely not with that moron ever again. If he values his pathetic life, he wouldn't even think to attempt.
