1. Based on my research you’ve done many things abroad. For example, Japan. How spread are you internationally, compared to America?

Well for most of my career I was based in Jamaica doing Reggae and Dancehall music, which allowed me to travel all over the World especially focusing on the Reggae markets such as Europe, The Caribbean, Japan, Canada and certain parts of America. But now I’m based in Atlanta Georgia so my focus now is definitely to get my name out here in America.

2. Being from a soulful & musically rich place like Jamaica, what’s the influence and how would you describe your sound?

Our culture is so rich and colorful and our music has a vibe that’s like no other, so it’s natural for me being born and raised in Kingston Jamaica to draw from the influences of Bob Marley, Marcia Griffiths, Patra, Diana King and Dennis Brown just to name a few. I felt like I had to bring something different and unique to the table so I could stand out , so I created my own genre called “Dutty Pop” which is definitely a mixture of everything I’ve been influenced by in my life.

3. How did you connect with MMG Digital and Rick Ross?

Big Block who I’m signed to (Block Ent) was the man who discovered Ross so they’re like brothers. The connection was natural and he loved my sound and thought it was different. MMG Digital is a partnership between Block, Ross and Dj Gregstreet and I’m the first artist on that label so I’m very excited and looking forward to the future.

4. I love the “Me and You” single. (click, to read write-up/review) Who produced it, wrote it, and what was the creative process to get that done with Rick Ross?

Thank u! I actually already had the hook done years ago but then we decided to go back and finish the verses. Block had an idea that if it’s hot enough, he would send it to Ross for a verse which would obviously take it to another level. Ross was definitely on the top of my wish list of artists to work with so I was really happy when he sent his verse. Big up to Jrell from the Inkkwell who produced and co wrote it with me and June Summers.

5. what can we expect on “3rd world problem”?

Just expect a lot of energy and a feel of the different vibes of Jamaica. I want you to be able to feel like you’re right there in the streets of Kingston drinking a hot Guinness and eating some pan chicken with the gangstas. I’m excited and proud of this project because it truly represents me as I connect two different worlds together.
