You know what. I found the one form of “NFTs” that I am okay with. Well. Kind of. So. Western comic books have what they call variant covers. There’s usually a bunch of artists that make different covers for one issue of a comic. Well. I recently picked up a comic with a randomized variant cover that’s world started as stories made off of a bunch of NFTs. And. I like the idea of a comic with a randomized cover. Granted it’s basically a base picture that has randomized accessories. But I find it really cool. And instead of it being digital and you never being able to touch it, it’s a physical thing that you can hold in your hand and read. Also. It is $5 and comes with a story. And the comics don’t really feel like a scam or anything at all. It’s a comic book meant to be sold at a store with a set price. Also. The world is apparently open source. Which I find to be neat as well. Idk. It’s neat and the comic itself isn’t a scam. So. Yeah.
This is the 26th in my Dripmap series - a painting of the Blitmap, Pale Tower, in watercolour, chalk pastel and ink. Pale Tower was created by Jason Rosenstock (or themoonladder) as an on-chain 32x32 pixel piece. Rosenstock's work has an eerie and menacing quality to it. This bone-white structure beckons in the distance. It appears to be unreachable, half-sunken, more wounded than broken.
I minted this painting as an NFT on ethereum in October 2021. It is currently available for sale.

Artist Interviews from New York Comic Con 2023 @ Javits Center - Part Seven
Back in October, PiercingMetal was in attendance at the 2023 edition of the famed New York Comic Con which took over the Javits Center for four days. During the course of our media coverage of the event, a series of artist interviews were done by site founder Ken Pierce. While all of these videos are resident on the Official PiercingMetal YouTube Channel, several have been collected into this…

EACH BLIND BAGGED ISSUE COMES WITH A UNIQUE COVER VARIANT BASED ON THREE DIFFERENT DESIGNS! Under the shadow of an ancient cataclysm, Blitnauts and Logos factions battle for power, while The Static's elusive realm entraps and corrupts all who submit to its mystifying call."
Dripmaps - Rose palette I'm at an early stage in a long project to paint all 17 palettes of the Rose Blitmap family in oils on the same canvas.
Over Christmas I started on 'Rose Moderator' in navy, red and white. I really like reviewing the journey this canvas has been on so far. When all 17 palettes are finished it will be so tall and the layers of oil on it will be very thick. This latest one is drying, and I will probably glaze it after that. So I'll only be ready to mint it in three weeks or so. In its previous forms, Rose is available for sale, Rose MeltMan is held by revraS, Rose Reset is held by flashrekt.
Watcher 89
This is the 13th in my Dripmap series - a painting of the Blitmap, Watcher, in watercolour and ink. Watcher was created by Dom Hofmann as an on-chain 32x32 pixel piece. Dom's piece has this sinister immediacy that is a challenge to recapture. The imagery of a figure silhouetted in the doorway, a halo of strange green light, an ambiguity of rescue and capture.
I minted this painting as an NFT on ethereum in September 2021. It is currently available for sale.
