“Jonah, hi!” Andi smiled.“Hi, Jonah.” Buffy greeted. “Great game last night, Slayer!! You killed it!” he said brightly.Buffy laughed nervously, “Thanks!”  The table stayed quiet for a few moments until the cashier called Jonah over for his order. Before he left, he stopped back by the GHC’s booth. “Hey- uh, Buffy,” He started.“Yeah?”“I’m going to that mini golf place in town tomorrow. You wanna come with?” He asked.Buffy thought for a moment, “Yeah, totally! You guys wanna co-” “Actually,” Jonah interrupted all too quickly, “I was hoping maybe it could just be us?”“Oh,” She said, intrigued. The entire table gave each other a look, making Jonah sweat. It was like they were talking to each other with their minds. He kept glancing at each of them, searching for some type of response. What was only a few seconds felt like forever to Jonah until Buffy finally responded. “Yeah! Sounds like it’ll be fun!”“It’s a date!” Jonah exclaimed, rushing out of The Spoon before he could say anything else he’d probably regret saying.Buffy gave Andi an apologetic smile. “Buffy, we broke up a long time ago. I moved on. If he makes you happy, then go for it.” Andi knew Buffy had a crush on Jonah for a while now. She didn’t have to say anything, Andi just knew.Buffy sighed, “Are you sure, Andi? If you’re not comfortable with it please tell me. I really don’t want another Walker situation. What about girl code?”Andi laughed, “Buffy, I’m with Amber now! I promise you, I have no feelings for Jonah. At all. They flew out the window. And to hell with girl code. You’re my best friend and your happiness is way more important to me than some stupid code.”Both girls stood up, hugging tightly. “Thank you, Andi.”Cyrus sat, watching the whole thing. After they hugged he finally spoke up, “You see that? It’s called growth.” The trio laughed and they went back to eating their baby taters.

The next day, Buffy arrives at the location, searching for Jonah. She finds him sitting on a bench on his phone. “Jonah, hi!” He stood up, beaming, “Buffy!! You look great!” She giggled anxiously, “You do, too!” They got their golf balls and putters. They were having the best time! Jonah found it so adorable when Buffy would get super competitive and smack talk. He decided to point it out to her. “You’re so cute.” He shook his head, grinning sheepishly. A pink tint appeared on both their faces.“Whatever.” She giggled anxiously, unsure of how to reply to the compliment.They played a few rounds before eventually deciding to get some pizza. “This is so much fun!” Buffy chirped as they sat down. “Thanks for inviting me. I’m having a great time.” “I’m having a great time, too.”There was a few minutes of awkward silence before Buffy broke it.“Can I ask you something?” She questioned. Jonah nodded, prompting her to continue. “This is gonna sound so stupid,” she starts, laughing it off. “But yesterday before you left the Spoon, you called this a date?” Jonah’s face immediately turned red as a tomato, “O-oh, yeah. Pfft. That…” He trailed off.“Did you mean it? Is this a date?” She asked. She really hoped this was a date, but she also didn’t want to take it the wrong way if that isn’t what he meant by ’date’.Jonah looked down at his pizza and back to Buffy, “Um,” He took a deep breath, figuring he might as well tell her now. “Buffy, I really like you. Like…like you like you. I haven’t been able to figure out how to tell you and the more I think about it, asking you on a date in front of my ex/your best friend probably wasn’t the best way to go about it but I-”“Jonah!” She interrupted his rambling, smiling wide. “I like you, too. Like you like you.”A wide, toothy grin washed over Jonah’s face. “Really?” She returned the smile, nodding. “So,” he paused, “what now? Are we a couple now or…?” he asked.“Yes!” She exclaimed and they both laughed happily.“If you’re up for a few more rounds of mini golf, wanna make a bet?” Buffy asked once they both finished their pizza.Jonah raised a curious eyebrow, “A bet? Sounds interesting. What will we be betting on?”
