Looks around... I hate lapidot, not so much cause of the pairing itself I'm not into it but you do you booboo, moreso cause of the fans. Why are lapidot fans like GENUINELY obsessed with the idea of peri fusing so badly like it hasn't been established in show and hell I think one of the lil books/comics/whatever the fuck that she is not into it and it's perfectly fine, everyone is supportive of it! Why is it a bad thing her and her roommate don't fuse, why is it a bad thing lapis, who has some trauma from a fusion that represented a toxic relationship, and peridot, who is uncomfortable with fusing and frankly it kinda leans into aromantic/asexual coding depending on how you personally interpret it, just spend time together! Not every couple (which they aren't even in canon) needs to fuse, especially cause fusion is a representation of different relationships and thus either you're weird about aromantic people or weird about asexual people, both who tend to avoid certain relationships cause of their aversion to em, I hate how it seems like this cult requirement with the pairing that you MUST ignore this aspect of the two characters and constantly insist they do the exact thing that neither clearly wanna do

I hate to say it but lapidot fans remind me alot of people who say "just wait till you meet the right person" when it comes to these two, no, someone leaving a terrible partner they were also terrible to due to the situation they were in and someone who leans into a sexuality that makes her uncomfortable with certain things do not need to do something they don't wanna do, their relationship in canon is great already because that part of gem relationships is a respected not-touched thing between the two and i love that about their bond, they don't need some forced fusion that comes out of left field and goes against the established boundaries! And if I also said sometimes it feels alot like hating platonic or queerplatonic relationships that don't act like other romantic ones would I be strung up by my leg and pelted with stones cause fuck it this is my rant
