how do you think convineer would first interact w eachotherā¦ or like after Engie helps Simon and all and theyre safe and Engie tries warming up to Simon,, how do u think that would pan out and go (i bet youāve already written this out in a fic prolly š„¹š„¹) and how would engie try warming up 2 him,,

I think Simon would at first assume Engie is an angel. They share a face, angels make themselves appear unto us as familiar creatures to allow comfort and guidance. But if Simon has hardly ever known anyone to offer that, (aside from his mom but he looked like he was like 9 when the rapture happened and I wouldnāt remember my moms face if I were his age) then it would make sense to appear as him.
ā¦. Then Engie starts talking. A lot.
quickly, feverishly so, about everything and nothing.
And Simon gets hit with a moment of āoh my god. This guy is an idiot.ā And he HHHATES. Engie. That is, until he sees more than just the nervous ācanāt-stop-talkingā traits.
one night Simon will sit up and think āhhholllyyyy shit I like mark.ā
like in a platonic way. Heāll be flabbergasted because bros never had real relationships. Even his so-called brothers left him behind! (Brothers in religion that is)
Mark sees some guy covered in blood and half dead and his first instinct is āshit I gotta fix this guy.ā Then he gets to know Simon a bit, sees how dissociative Simon is at first. Quiet, never seeming to fully hear what people are saying. His eyes have a dull glaze to them for a while. And he thinks āholy shit I gotta fix this guy.ā
then something so undeniably real happens (idk what. But something.) and Engie gets to see Simon when heās like locked in. And Engie things āholy SHIIITTT I gotta fix this guy.ā
From that point, Simon sticks around because he sees Mark as a hopelessly naive idiot, but he feels like he owes it to Mark to protect him from the cruel universe. Until Simon realizes life on the Invincible II isnāt cold and unforgiving.
Mark sticks around Simon a lot because he feels like he has to fix Simon. Shoe him what life can be.
until the more time they spend around eachother the more they realize they kinda just enjoy each otherās company. Simon doesnāt like being alone, and Mark enjoys having a companion who talks and doesnāt just see him as the reckless idiot.
whichā About that. Simon sees Mark as a reckless idiot up until he sees Mark do something impressive with engineering. Maybe itās fixing a leak in cryo, or making a quick new piece of technology as a solution for a minor problemā
Simonās star struck. Thatās the day he treats Engie like a person instead of a foolish puppy.
