palpatine deliberately putting anakin in places that will cause the people around him to feel uneasy and doubtful of him is truly an underrated manipulation technique because there's no need to fabricate anything and by telling anakin it's his right to be there he creates this double sided mirror of everyone in anakin's environment reinforcing his fear that they're all out to get him and from an outside perspective (or more accurately the perspective of the puppetmaster) anakin is in a hanging cage in the spotlight. And anakin feels this subconsciously enough to be just too agitated to think hard about it. Because what's in front of him is obviously the answer. I feel like this contextualizes a lot of anakin's irritation with obi wan that can't be traced back to obi wan himself
