the mini golf chapter is the most underrated sydrian chapter in the series. adrian is the one who calls sydney to see the dracula statue, ready to make some jokes about her terrified reaction. but then sydney laughs. it's the first time she's expressed herself this freely, and it's in front of vampires. adrian is mesmerized. he is so good at reading people, and yet sydney surprises him with this reaction.
the dracula photo?? SO CUTE. i need to know if adrian has a copy of the photo for himself. i can already imagine him randomly opening the photo just to see sydney's smile. zooming in on her but he denies his feelings for her so much that he would justify it by saying it's because the photo is funny. and he says the photo is "pretty cute"?? and sydney is overanalyzing what he meant by that! AHHHH
and of course, adrian noticing is sydney freaking out over jill's magic. "the only one" who did. making sure she is okay, but sydney pushes him away, going back to alchemist mode. she already had a shitty time with keith earlier (which adrian also noticed) and just a she was relaxing and having a good time, this happens.
i love, love that at this point, all their interactions are a slow burn of their friendship as much as their actual relationship. the mentions that adrian is the only one who notices, who understands... and later on we'll see sydney doing the same thing with adrian!!!

i know part of the reason sydney being the sole pov in bloodlines is to keep the mystery of jill and adrian’s spirit bound but god i would love to read jill’s pov.
