I like shimmer powder in theory, but some faceups use so much that the doll just looks sweaty. So, so sweaty.

Over the years I've spent doing BJD faceups, I found that instead of being too uptight or perfectionist about every step along the way, a more comfortable and free way to enjoy the creation process is knowing how to undo or fix mistakes as I go, rather than avoid them as much as I can. I figured out these tips on undoing mistakes along my journey, and because I use them in almost all my faceups, I thought it might be helpful to share them with you guys :)
Finally got around to doing some doll stuff and I have never worked on such a small scale before. It's so tricky! Faceup for Frappzilla Drippy the Axolittle and both a faceup and hair piece painting for Thistle (logan.dolls teeny Sphynx). I'm really pleased with how the hair turned out!
Last interview of the year! Please welcome Follow the Wind, an amazing EU-based faceup artist! As always, the interview is in English and Spanish, available in my blog: https://bit.ly/3ooUbhS
Faceups 10-25-2020
One day my titles will have a solid convention that does not change.
Anyways, this last week, I made a LOT of progress on my faceups!
December is REALLY coming together I am honestly so thrilled for them because they have plenty of clothes to choose from and I think I am going to have a HUGE blast showing them off and doing photoshoots.
Keilani is getting there too but I’m not 100% happy with it yet. I think I strayed from what I originally wanted so if I end up feeling unsatisfied with another pass, I might wipe her and start again.
Paige is making me pretty happy though! I’m pretty excited to get her closer and closer to completion.
Constellation got some more blush - I blushed her forehead to simmer down the very sharp contours she had before, blushed her nose and touched up her lips. I’m gonna try and do another pass on her lips to solidify the color and even it out but then I think she will be done!
I started blushing Prim, just a light layer!
I TRIED blushing Yvaine but despite how toothy she felt, she couldn’t keep anything on her for shit. We will spray and try again lol.
Anyways, I am absolutely adoring these babies and I cannot wait for them to be done. And I’m so happy because this was the first time I worked on faceups without totally overthinking and fretting the process! Growth!

I really want to get into doing faceups, but I'm so paranoid about Mr. Super Clear's toxicity. I wear a mask and spray it outside, but sometimes I can smell it anyway, and wonder if that'll make me sick. And then if I bring the head inside to dry, if I can smell it I'll wonder if that will make me sick. I've had panic attacks about this.
