#doll repaint

I'm still going to shade and detail at least his clavicle and chest, just so I can make clothes that do have a lower collar on them, but overall I'm happy with the current result.

Even if a hot spot on the head did gauge part of the neck you can't see 😅

Different type of art this time. About a year ago I decided to try my hand at doll repainting (thanks to the amazing @allthelittledolls ) as a new creative hobby that didn't feel like work. So, I obviously decided to make a Louis du Lac doll.

So I bought a 1/6 scale fully jointed doll, sans head, back like... last January. And I've had a headless body waiting for a head since then. And it's finally happening!

I've been trying to find a head sculpt that was close enough to make a Louis doll since I bought the body. About a month into that process I figured I'd get a 3d printed head made, which I've finally purchased.

So, he's been lightly sanded (the head is the approximate size of a Barbie's head), but I've been very light handed with it, as not to lose any detail. Considering he's going to sit on my shelf by my work station, the printed texture probably isn't going to be that much of an issue. So, now he's been sanded, primed, and I move onto the task of painting him.

I have two Barbie Basics Model #2 dolls that I've named Marin and Astraea. Marin came with wonky eyes and for a while I didn't know what to do with her. I finally decided to try to fix her eyes by repainting/painting over them. I'm not very good at faceups, especially for such tiny faces, but I don't hate the result for now. 🤷🏻‍♀️ (I gave her brown eyes and kind of a side-eye.)
