Birminghamâs own, Marc Raby debuts new stage play,
âToo Late to Raise A Man!â
The new play starred Jonathan Perkins, Ebony Arrington- Steele, Ray Lavender, Tony Terry, Marvin Winans Jr., Alyson Williams, and newcomers A.T Franklin and Terrell Pettus.
Too Late to Raise A Man tells the story of young man name Eric (played by Terrell Pettus) who finds out that his mother Nicole (played by Jillian Gray) kept a secret from him that she was an exotic dancer. (See below)
When Eric finds out through his college friends, he expressed his hurt by talking negatively towards his mother and being overly disrespectful.

In a deceitful way to destroy the family of a high profile man, Nicole  decides to introduce Eric to his alleged father (played by Tony Terry). Terry agrees to mentor his son, take an active role in his life, and even befriendâs Nicole after she tried to destroy his home.
Linda (played by Ebony Arrington-Steele) played Terryâs wife who found herself the victim in Nicoleâs scheme.

I know youâre probably reading this thinking, âHow did she try to destroy his home?â Well I will say you would have to see the play to find out what the small twist is all about. lol
Singer Alyson Williams stars as âFayeâ â  a mother in the process of getting a divorce.

Joey Beanz plays âMyronâ â an eligible bachelor who falls in love with a girl in two days!

Ray Lavender plays âLawrenceâ who is struggling with a âdrug addictionâ

Singer Marvin Winans Jr. plays the role of Chauncey. Faye invites him over to her divorce party and finds out that he had a little surprise of his own!
Although the play had some big names, I think A.TÂ Franklin and singer Terrell Pettus were the breakout stars that evening.
A. T. Franklin plays a fitness trainer who tries to help TeShara Monique (below) save her relationship. However, when she rips off Franklinâs shirt, the audience found themselves with an eye full to say the least. Women were screaming all over the building, while men were of course hating. One patron gave him the nickname, âArnold Swartza-Negro.âÂ

TERRELL PETTUS really shocked me with his cover of âListenâ by the Queen B (Beyonce Knowles). A very talented young man with amazing vocal skills (live).
