I like this meme! Jasmine, poinsettia, locust.
jasmine) what color looks best on you?
I gave a really detailed, well-thought out answer to this question the last time I was asked it on one of these question memes, perhaps even this same flower one. This time, Iâll do the short version: I look good in all colors.
poinsettia) favorite holiday dish?I feel like I also answered this question very recently? have I reblogged this same meme twice in like a month and not realized it?? does Becca have psychic powers that are causing her to know and ask only questions that I have already answered??? Like Iâve said before, I really donât like most of the traditional âhomestyle American holiday foods,â but I love Christmas cookies and also any holiday that would cause anyone to make a coconut creme pie.
locust) what was your favorite book as a child?well, okay, âchildâ is such a broad category, so prepare yourself for a long drawn-out listicle of an answer. In my earliest years of independent reading, I plowed through basically all 3,000+ of the Magic Attic Club Books {okay, google is telling me there were only like 38 of them, but it felt like more to 1st-grader-Claire checking them out in handfuls from the school library}. I also read the Junie B. Jones books when everyone else I knew was reading them too, although my journalist mother was very reluctant to even buy them for me--and only did so after a protracted period of begging--because Junie uses such poor grammar. For much of 2nd grade I was in the throes of a serious Encyclopedia Brown phase that eventually gave way to a brief Nancy Drew obsession. I also adored the Box Car Children books, at least right up until this terribly bitter woman who was a ghost writer for the series came to our elementary school and spoke about how terrible it is to write for a franchise with such strict parameters for the plotlines and character traits and then not even get your freaking name on the cover. In 3rd and 4th grade I loved Sharon Creechâs books, especially Chasing Redbird and Walk Two Moons. I read them over and over, which is something I really havenât done with any books since then. I need to find those books and read them again some time.In 5th grade I read The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau and was utterly mesmerized. I refuse to accept that there was ever a movie made of it, because itâs bound to be utter and complete crap.My love of the immortal classics that are the Harry Potter and Calvin & Hobbes seriesâ has spanned my entire chidhood and what of my adulthood Iâve lived through thus far, and if you donât know who wrote both of those already, who are you and why are you on my blog?
