In the "everyone ships shadamy" headcanon, which character do you think ships them the most and which ships them the less?
((In reference to my Everyone Ships Shadamy tag))
Regarding who ships them the most, one might assume Iâd say Sonic, Rouge, or Cream, as theyâre the ones who appear most often; Sonic loves it when his friends are happy, Rouge is thrilled Shadow is interested in dating for once, and Creamâs an idealistic yet grounded little sister who cares about Amy and wants to see her with someone whoâs capable of the same level of devotion and commitment as Amy is. I love writing them this way.
However, I wouldnât actually put any of them at the top of the heap because I can think of reasons why each one could object to it.
Some speculate that Sonic would get jealous. I donât, but I do see him as someone who knows how dangerous and rash Shadow is. This goes for a lot of characters. We know Shadowâs gentle around Amy, but weâve seen their hug and the ARK connection in SA2, the possibility of her turning him around in ShTH, the TMOSTH scene where Shadow gave Amy a sweet gift and agreed to go to a silly concert with her, etc. Sonic hasnât seen that soft spot. Amy was helpless when Sonic met her and for a long time afterward, so he might hang onto that concern on some level and feel cautious about her spending time with Shadow, especially because of how naĂŻve Amy is. Sonic knows Shadowâs ultimately a good guy, but Amyâs seen a side of him that no one else has. I wouldnât anticipate open hostility from Sonic, but he might worry on some level.
Rouge didnât always get along with Amy. She understandably saw Amy as an immature child for a long time, and she looked down on Amy and messed with her. They get along now, but they still have their differences, and Rouge cares a ton about Shadow. I could see her getting protective if she has reason to believe Amy could be frivolous and break his heart.
I think Cream mostly doesnât like s0namy because of how lopsided Amy and Sonicâs feelings are and because Amy loses her head when it comes to romance. If she doesnât think Shadow reciprocates and doesnât register how different the shadamy dynamic is, she might dislike it for the same reason. Creamâs wise for her age, but Shadowâs hard to read.
(For the record, I think all three of them would come around pretty quickly once they actually saw how Shadow and Amy acted as a couple. Thatâs usually how it goes for Sonic fans in general, after all.)
This is why I actually think Vanilla would ship them the most. I donât write headcanons about her too often because sheâs a minor character, but I honestly canât see any reason sheâd object to shadamy. Vanillaâs probably the closest thing to a mom Amy has, so she has a vested interest in seeing her happy. She has Creamâs gentle supportiveness, but with the wisdom and experience of adulthood, I imagine she could understand the big picture and realize how good the two of them are for each other. The best headcanon I have explaining this is here.
As for who ships them the least, a lot of people put Knuckles in that role as a big brother figure for Amy. I think thatâs tenuous, though. He just doesnât stand up for her in that regard. I donât know about anyone else, but I canât think of a single time heâs seriously chewed Sonic out for treating Amy poorly. The closest youâll get is him sarcastically saying things like, âAre you playing with that girlâs heart again, Sonic?â in Heroes and poking fun at him later. But heâs clearly joking when he says that, and he ran away from her along with Sonic constantly back in the day just like Tails did.
(Side note: this is something that really, really bothers me about his character. Youâre the oldest, Knuckles. Do better!)
It is possible he leaves Sonic alone about it because s0namy is a âsafeâ avenue for Amyâs affections; Sonic is one of his closest friends and Knuckles knows heâs ultimately a solid guy, and given that Sonic hasnât shown interest in an actual relationship, things wouldnât go very far between the two. Shadow, on the other hand, has been at odds with Knuckles and the others before, and like Sonic, Knuckles has never seen the soft spot Shadow has for Amy.
I still think itâs more likely that Knuckles would trust Amyâs judgment and stay hands-off, but he could potentially show some hostility. This headcanon is how I explain it.
If you ask me, the biggest opponent to the pairing...would be Doctor Eggman. If Shadow and Amy had kids, Eggmanâs chances for world domination would be kaput in ten to fifteen years. Even if they never did or the child didnât have any of their abilities, the possibility would ruin Eggmanâs blood pressure, which is even funnier.

How did Rouge and Omega react when meeting Rosie the first time? Did they know Shadow wanted a Chao? Also, does Shadow let them babysit Rosie when he is away on solo missions or would he rather let Amy or Cream take care of her?
((I am so glad you asked! Iâve had the ideas in my head for ages, but theyâre not Shadamy-centric enough to fit into a headcanon, and I wasnât sure whether anyone would be interested!
Cross-posted on AO3.
Shadow first adopted Rosie in this story.))
--
Rouge shifted the shopping bag in her hand so she could fish out the spare key sheâd held onto after moving out of Team Darkâs apartment. Just as she was about to unlock the door, she heard a muffled sound from inside. She listened for a moment, and then her eyes bugged out.
That almost sounds like...a baby?!
She double-checked the text Shadow had sent her earlier that day.
> Need your help with something. Visit when you can.
Shortly followed by,
> Please
Rouge narrowed her eyes at her phone. That doesnât explain anything. Why would he have a baby?! She scratched her chin. Unless heâs had more luck with Amy than I thought.
She shook her head and opened the door, then put away her keys and strode into the living room where the noise was coming from. âShadow, Iâm not a babysitter. If thatâs what youâre asking, thenââ
âBah?â
Rouge stopped halfway into the room. Shadow was seated on the couch, while Omega stood in front of him. Both of them were preoccupied with a small pink Chao who was sitting in Shadowâs lap. The Chao was gazing up at Rouge, its emote ball forming a curious question mark.
Rouge stared at the bright pink Chao for several seconds, then turned her unimpressed gaze toward Shadow. âThis is just Amy in Chao form, isnât it?â
âNo,â he snapped immediately. The Chao glanced up at him and cocked its head, and Omegaâs exhaust sputtered in amusement. Shadow glared at him.
Rouge crossed her arms. âOh, really? So whatâs its name?â
Shadow growled quietly. âHer name is...â
He paused for a moment, then snapped his mouth shut and looked away. Omegaâs exhaust sputtered again, louder this time. Shadow grumbled.
Rouge smirked. Oh, this is gonna be good. âWell...?â
Shadow grimaced and shut his eyes. âSheâs...Rosie.â
Rouge triedâand failedâto hold in her laughter. It burst out of her in a loud cackle. âHAH!â Omega joined in.
A plaintive whine came from Rosieâs direction at the loud noise. She was holding her head, and her eyes were squinted shut. Shadow instantly leaned down to whisper some calming words in her ear. He glared at Rouge in silent warning.
Rouge sighed and sat down on the couch, placing her shopping bag on the floor next to her. âSo when did the little bundle of joy get here?â she asked, trying to keep the sarcasm out of her voice. âI knew you liked Chao, but I didnât know you were adopting one.â
Wouldnât surprise me if he was waiting until I moved out.
Shadow idly scratched under Rosieâs chin. âAbout three weeks ago, I was talking with my therapist about some of my...â His nose wrinkled. â...insecurities. I told her about my purpose and how pressured I felt to protect the Earth. She suggested I might feel more fulfilled if I took care of something smaller.â Rosie cuddled up to Shadow and nuzzled his side. He smiled wryly. âLooking back, she was probably thinking of a houseplant, but I stopped by the Chao shelter on my way home and adopted Rosie.â
Rougeâs heart warmed. Thank God I set him up with that therapist. Sheâs been a godsend for him. âThatâs really good advice.â
Shadowâs expression was unusually soft as he gazed down at the Chao. âItâs been...nice.â
Rouge looked down at Rosie. Her face was painted in a perpetual smile, not unlike her namesake. Rouge reluctantly grinned back.
I have to admit she is pretty cute.
Rouge shook off the sentiment. âSo why did you drag me down here? Please tell me itâs not to...â Her gaze flicked down to Rosie, then back up. âYou know what.â Her eyes narrowed.
Shadow pressed his lips together, then looked away. âG.U.N.âs sending me on a solo mission. Youâre the only person I can trust with this.â
Rouge massaged her temples. I can feel a headache coming on already. âShadow. I. Donât. Babysit. You know I canât stand babies, Chao or not.â
Rosie let out a soft noise and tilted her head, almost sounding...sad? Rouge frowned. She didnât...understand that, did she...? She scoffed. Of course she didnât. Sheâs just a Chao. Rouge shook her head. âThere has to be someone else. What about Cream? Sheâs good with Chao.â
Shadow was already shaking his head. âCream has Cheese. Rosie doesnât get along well with other Chao.â
âAH?!â Rosie squawked, indignant.
Shadow crossed his arms. âDonât give me that. You know Iâm right.â Rosie pouted.
Rouge glanced between the two, then scoffed. She doesnât play well with others. Just like her dad. Her face hardened. âWhat about Omega? Heâll be here. Heââ
â...Has knives for hands,â Shadow argued.
âSHADOW. YOU MUST RECONSIDER. I HAVE PREPARATIONS IN PLACE.â
âNo.â
âI HAVE DOWNLOADED THE CONTENTS OF OVER ONE THOUSAND PARENTING BLOGS. I AM READY.â
âNo.â
Rouge glanced between the two. She pursed her lips. I guess I canât argue with him there, but... She smirked. âHow about Amy? Donât you two have joint custody yet?â
Shadow scowled, and his ears turned slightly red. He sighed and shook it off. âRouge, it has to be you. Youâre the only one whoâll see through her tricks.â
âTricks?â
Rouge heard an intrigued noise at her feet. âHuh?â
âOo!â
Rouge looked down, only to see Rosie had somehow gotten into her bag and extracted one of the bracelets Rouge had just bought. Sheâd already looped it around one of her tiny wrists, and she was giggling and playing with it.
Rouge choked. âYou littleâ!â She reached down and tried to take the bracelet back, but Rosie proved difficult, holding it behind her back and eluding Rougeâs hands.
âRosie,â Shadow warned.
The Chao ignored him and hopped into the air to try and get some distance. Rouge lashed her hands out and grabbed her. âGotcha!â
The moment she did, however, Rosieâs lower lip trembled...and she burst into tears. Rouge flailed and hurriedly placed her down on the couch. Rosie bolted and hid behind Shadow, shivering and whimpering.
Shadow sighed. He turned away from Rouge and bent down to comfort Rosie. âShh, shhh...itâs okay. Youâre alright.â
Confused, Rouge looked up at Omega. His eyes were glowing more brightly than usual. His cooling fans whirred loudly, a sign that he was irritated with her, almost seeming...protective?
Rouge cringed and looked back at Shadow. Instead of picking Rosie up as most people would do with a crying Chao, he was holding her paw and scratching under her chin again. Rouge bit her lip and waited.
After about twenty seconds, Rosieâs sobs had died down to sniffles. Shadow sighed and turned back to Rouge, his eyes a mix of tiredness and disapproval. âI know you didnât mean it, but Rosie doesnât like to be held or touched by people she doesnât know. You need to be careful with her.â
Rouge tried not to grumble. I havenât even agreed to this, and heâs already telling me what to do. But...
Rosie was peeking back at Rouge past Shadow. Her eyes were still wide and tearful, and there was real fear in her expression. Rougeâs chest tightened, and an emotion that felt a whole lot like guilt crept into her heart.
Itâs not like itâs my fault! Everyone knows Chao love to be held, this oneâs just...weird.
The thought didnât make her feel better. Her expression pinched. She deliberated for a moment while the Chaoâs tears subsided, then sighed and reluctantly mumbled, âI...wonât do that again, okay? Iâm...â She grit her teeth. âIâm sorry.â
Out of the corner of her eye, Rouge could see the little red light on Omegaâs chest plate that indicated he was recording audio. She glared at him.
I never apologize. Ever. And now heâs got a recording of it. Heâs going to play that back ten times a day, isnât he?
Rougeâs attention was brought back by a quiet whine from the couch. Rosie stared up at her for a moment, then climbed up over Shadowâs legs. She tentatively crept closer to Rouge. Apparently deciding it was safe, she held up the bracelet for her.
Rougeâs eyes widened. âYouâre giving this back to me?â Rosie nodded. Rouge plucked it from her hands. âOh...thank you.â
The red recording light on Omegaâs chest plate was lit once more. Rouge grumbled internally.
I never say âthank you,â either. And now heâs got that, too.
But then the bright smile returned to Rosieâs face, shining through again past her reddened eyes, and it was almost worth it. Rougeâs heart melted, and she just barely held back a fond smile.
Rosie toddled back over to Shadowâs side. He instantly leaned down to scratch under her chin and held her paw again. âGreat job, Rosie. Good girl.â She nodded, pride evident on her face. He paused and held up a finger. âBut no stealing, alright? That bracelet was hers, and you know it.â Rosie pouted for a moment, then nodded and gave a toothy smile. Shadowâs eyes narrowed in suspicion, but he scratched under her chin again.
Rouge squinted. Itâs always under the chin. I wonder if she doesnât like being pet normally.
When Shadow sat back up straight, Rosie plopped down next to him. She still held onto one of his hands, but she was sucking on her other paw.
Rouge inclined her head toward Rosie. âI thought adult Chao grew out of sucking their paws. Youâre not going to tell her to stop?â
âIâm not going to stop something that isnât hurting anyone,â Shadow said. âRosie does some things differently. This is fine. Stealing isnât.â
Rouge pursed her lips. âShe seems...â
âSheâs got strengths and weaknesses, just like any other Chao,â he stressed, holding Rougeâs gaze firmly. Rosie looked up at him, and he showed her a rare smile before looking back up at Rouge. He turned serious again. âI donât know exactly what her first owner was like, but...â His jaw clenched.
Rouge winced. Oh...
âRosieâs been through a lot,â Shadow continued. âSheâs smart and gets herself into a lot of trouble. Itâs not just stealing. Sheâll run off or hide from you, and she gets into all sorts of places she shouldnât. She can fly and climb, too.â
As if to reinforce his point, Rosie started climbing up the back of the couch. âCareful, Rosie,â he warned.
âBah!â
Rouge peeked over her shoulder as the Chao crawled past her, then squinted at Shadow. âThis sounds like a lot for one person.â
âTHIS TASK WILL BE SIMPLE WITH MY RECENTLY ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE!â Omega insisted.
Rouge raised a brow.
âHe can help you track Rosie down with infrared if she gets away from you,â Shadow explained.
âDO NOT UNDERESTIMATE MY SKILLS AS A PARENT! I HAVE ALREADY RESEARCHED THE MOST ADVANTAGEOUS COLORS TO PAINT A CHILDâS BEDROOM. MINT GREEN IS THE IDEAL CHOICE FOR A CHAO OF ROSIEâS TEMPERAMENT.â
âAnyway,â Shadow muttered, holding a hand to his forehead, âthere are some other things to watch out for. Like how she can pick locks.â
Rouge opened her mouth, then stalled out. âWha...no. Absolutely not. No way.â She paused, then side-eyed him. â...What kinds of locks?â
âFor starters, anything with a combination.â
Rouge snorted. âNo. You cannot convince me a Chao can read numbers.â
Shadow scratched his chin. âI donât think she actually reads them,â he mused. âShe just waits until the lockâs open and memorizes the shapes and where they are. Like theyâre symbols.â Rouge scoffed, and he added, âAnything that opens with a key wonât work, either. Sheâll just steal the key.â
Rouge smirked. âWell, I have to respect that, at least.â
âIâm glad to hear that.â
âWhy?â
âBecause youâre no exception.â
Rouge cocked her head, and he nodded past her. She turned around to the armrest behind her and gasped, scandalized.
Rosie sat on the armrest, casually chewing on one of Rougeâs keys. When she saw Rouge was looking at her, she snickered.
âYouâhow the hell did you get those?!â
âLANGUAGE, ROUGE. A CHILD IS PRESENT.â
Rosie leapt into the air and flew over Rougeâs head. Rouge tried to reach for her, only to whip her hands back and growl when she remembered what happened last time. âYouâgive those back!â
Rosie ignored her and fluttered past Shadow to hide behind him once more. She peeked at Rouge and hid a giggle behind her paw.
Rouge crossed her arms and clenched her teeth. Shadow looked down at Rosie, and his face turned stern. âRosie. Those arenât yours, and you know it.â
Rosie looked between the two of them. She pouted for a moment...and then burst into tears once more.
Rouge held up her hands defensively. âWhat did I do this time?!â
Shadow held up a finger, then crossed his arms and locked his gaze on Rosie. She quieted down after a moment. He shook his head, then glanced up. âOmega?â
âANALYZING...â Omega pressed a button on his wrist. After a moment, it turned red. âFALSE TEARS DETECTED.â
Rougeâs eyes widened. Shadow glared down at Rosie, who gave a fake, guilty smile through her tears. Shadow shook his head. âYouâre not fooling anyone. That wonât work in this house.â
Rosie shrank back down. She grumbled and wiped away the last of her tears. Rouge stared, baffled, and Shadow sighed. âRosie canâand willâcry if she thinks itâll get her what she wants. She has some tells, but until you get the hang of it, Omega can tell you when sheâs faking.â
Omega saluted. âNEVER YIELD TO AN ENEMYâS DECEPTION. PERFIDY IS A WAR CRIME AND MUST BE PUNISHED ACCORDINGLY!â
Rouge squinted down at Rosie. Thatâs actually pretty clever...not that Iâll admit it.
Shadow kept eye contact with Rosie, retaining his look of disapproval. After a few seconds, Rosie gave up and hopped back to her feet. She dragged her feet as she returned to Rougeâs side and held up her keys.
Rouge huffed and took them back. âHonestly, havenât you heard of âhonor among thieves?ââ she muttered. The keys were slightly wet from where Rosie had been chewing on them, making Rougeâs face twist in disgust.
By the time Rosie sat back down, the âinnocentâ smile was back on her face. Shadow didnât let up. âDonât look so proud of yourself,â he muttered. Rosie scrunched up her face but didnât object.
Rouge scratched her chin for a moment, then smirked. âHey...yâknow, sheâs got real potential. Good mobility, lockpicking, theft, deception...â
âYouâre not taking her on a gem heist.â
Rouge clicked her tongue. âAww, but sheâd be so good at it! Sheâs a natural!â
Shadow let out a sharp exhale. He held a hand to his forehead. âThatâs exactly what Iâm worried about. I need someone like you to look after her because youâll pick up on this stuff.â
Rosie was gazing up at Rouge again, still showing her adorable smile. Rouge narrowed her eyes.
Shadowâs right. This Chao would walk all over Amy and Cream.
Omegaâs triumphant voice cut in, surprising all three of them. âCOMPATIBILITY ANALYSIS COMPLETE. ROSIEâS BEHAVIOR BEARS A CLOSE RESEMBLANCE TO ROUGEâS!â
Rouge choked. âOh, no. No, no, no, no, NO!â She could hear Shadow trying to hide his own laughter, and Rosieâs emote ball morphed into an exclamation point. Her tiny tail started wagging, just as Amyâs often did, and her smile widened a little, somehow looking more sincere than before.
Rouge scowled at Omega and crossed her arms. âNo. Just NO.â
âNEGATIVE. TENDENCIES SHOW SIGNIFICANT OVERLAP. PROPENSITY FOR TRICKERY AND MISCHIEF. CLIMBING AND FLIGHT ABILITIES. COVETING AND THEFT. LOCKPICKING. MANIPULATION. STEALTH. FAMILIAL BOND WITH SHADOW.â
âOh, come on,â Rouge interrupted, rolling her eyes. âWe already agreed sheâs a miniature Amy. Theyâre the spitting image of each other,â she pointed out. âWhy do you think he chose her? Sheâs bright pink!â
âI didnât adopt her because sheâs pink!â Shadow snapped, making Rouge and Omega jump. Rosie whined quietly, and he leaned down to comfort her, whispering words of apology.
Rougeâs heart softened. She waited for Rosie to calm down, then asked, âSo why did you choose her?â
Shadow glanced up at Rouge out of the corner of his eye, then returned his gaze to Rosie. His jaw tightened.
âBecause she needed me.â
Rouge and Omega remained silent. He continued. âThat shelter wasââ Shadowâs face darkened. âThey couldnât give her the support she needed. They were...keeping her in a cage.â
Rouge could see the way Shadow was gritting his teeth. His eyes burned with rage, just as they did at any injustice. Her heart ached.
Shadow took in a deep breath, then sighed heavily. âPeople who didnât know what they were doing kept adopting her, only to bring her back. Over and over.â Rouge could see his hands shaking. âNo one was willing to put in the work and help her.â
Rougeâs eyes drifted down to Rosie, who was gazing up at Shadow. It wasnât hard to imagine workers just pushing her off to the side, not having any idea what to do with a Chao like her.
Rouge decided not to think about it.
Shadow held his mouth open, then clamped it shut. He looked back up at Rouge at last. âI adopted her immediately. I had to. They...â He shook his head, then choked out in a pained whisper, âI...couldnât leave her there. I just couldnât.â
Rosie whimpered. A frown of concern appeared on her face, and she started climbing up Shadowâs torso, only stopping once she was tucked under his chin. She hugged him and nuzzled his chest fur.
Shadowâs face spread into a tiny, genuine smile. He reached up a hand to hold and support her.
This time, Rouge couldnât hold back her fond smile.
He needs her just as much as she needs him.
Rouge stared for a long while, deliberating. Finally, she let out a long, reluctant sigh. âYouâd better start writing, then.â Shadow cocked his head, and Rouge smiled wryly. âIâm guessing this little one comes with instructions.â
Shadowâs eyes lit up. He sighed deeply and half-smiled, letting out a quick laugh. âThanks, Rouge. I wonât forget this. Omega?â
âAFFIRMATIVE. NOW PRINTING SCHEDULE AND GUIDELINES.â
Rougeâs gaze snapped to Omega. Her eyes bugged out as three full pages emerged one by one from a slot on his chest plate. Shadow immediately launched into an explanation, drawing her attention.
âA few quick thingsâas you can see, Rosie doesnât like being held unless she initiates contact. She wonât eat on the floor. She feels more comfortable sitting on a chair instead. Spot her when she climbs up to make sure she doesnât fall. She eats diced square fruits seasoned with a dash of nutmeg and a dusting of cinnamon. She needs to play outside twice a day, but she doesnât get along well with the other Chao yet, so you canât take her to the Chao park. Instead, make sure you...â
Rougeâs eye twitched. Chaos, sheâs as finicky as he is!
âWait,â Rouge cut in, holding a hand to her forehead. âHow long is this mission, anyway?â
âTwo weeks,â he replied. Rougeâs jaw dropped. Shadowâs nose wrinkled. âWell, closer to thirteen days...and Iâll keep my communicator on at all times,â he continued, oblivious to Rougeâs terror. âI can sneak out at night and teleport home for an hour or so, but I canât risk more than that.â
As Shadow kept ranting, Rougeâs eyes drifted to Rosie. She was still snuggling under Shadowâs chin, but sheâd turned her head to watch Rougeâs expression. Rosie let out a quiet giggle, apparently picking up on her distress.
Rouge narrowed her eyes. Iâm already regretting this.
--
((By the end of the two weeks, she adored Rosie anyway. Amy and Cream picked up the slack more once Rosie was properly trained, but Rouge found she didnât mind filling in every once in a while.
As for how Omega reacted when he first met Rosie, he immediately started scouring the internet for how to raise a small creature, even though he didnât really understand the ins and outs of parenting. Or Chao. Or anything squishy. But he knew she was important to Shadow, so she became a priority by extension. It started out like this...
...but over time, it grew into sincere fondness:
...especially once Rosie stopped lashing out at other Chao and Shadow raised her power stat. Omega was impressed that something so small could be so strong.
P.S. I wanted to finish that story I promised before I posted anything else, but Iâm a bit stalled out on it, so Iâm going to answer some asks in the meantime. Some of these have been here for an UNGODLY amount of timeâsorry!âand I want people to know Iâm still alive.))
Was reading your "Allâs Fair in Love and War" and I imagine Shadow being like Pascu and Rodri version of Ares (you can see it in YouTube as "Ares destripando la historia" sorry it's in spanish). This is what a human!Shadow looks like to me, his đđ expression fits Shadow so well. Very good fic by the way, one of my favs shadamy's AUs
((In reference to this story, which I think is one of my best. Thanks for the compliment!))
The video mentioned:
I found one with English subtitles, too, and they seem pretty accurate:
I *love* this video. The animationâs fluid, the art is great, the humorâs spot-on, and the music has been stuck in my head ever since you sent this--in a good way. Thank you for sharing!
Spoilers for âAllâs Fair in Love and Warâ under the cut.
Yeah, thatâs pretty accurate for Shadow. Firm. Decisive. Ruthless. Funny how the beginning of this video describes Ares as being without a heart, because Iâm sure thatâs how Shadow thought of himself until our favorite little cupid showed up. <3
This video also shows Aresâ affair with Aphrodite, who is Hephaestusâ (his brotherâs) wife in Greek mythology. I deliberately wrote Ares and Aphrodite to not have any romantic chemistry in my story. Itâd be a little awkward for Cole to be Hephaestusâ apprentice amid that kind of family drama, haha.
Hello Shadow and Amy đ It's been a while since the last letter. I think for the best since you guys were starting a relationship is good to have some private time together and just enjoy each other's company. How have you two been?
Amy: Oh hey! (âăŽâ)ďž It has been a while! Thanks for checking in! Shadow's not available right now, but I can answer!
[She flaps her hands, excited.]
Amy: It's been so great! I just- I don't know how to explain- I'm so happy. *We're* so happy. Some days, it feels almost like a dream. Just knowing I can text them, and they'll show up, or sometimes, they'll just call, not because they want anything, but just to talk. We bake together, we hang out- and it's at least once a week if not more, depending on what's going on with GUN! I know Shadow feels badly, and they keep apologizing for not being able to go out in public as a couple, but you know? Grocery shopping can be a date if you want it to be!
[Amy looks at the pile of paperwork spread all over her work station.]
Amy: But there's also just... been a lot.
[She sighs, leaning back in her office chair.]
Amy: GUN isn't making it easy to get Team Dark out of their clutches, but final arguments are today. I haven't heard anything from Shadow since Team Dark had to fly out for the case. They're not allowed communicators or anything. We've ended up having to pass messages through Tails. I wish I could have been there, but um... well, um... I may... or may not... have smashed Tower's car after a meeting one time because I got angry.
[She coughs awkwardly.]
Amy: Really glad Tails was able to hack into their security and delete the footage from the parking garage, but Towers still knows I did it, so I'm not able to go to the court case.
[There's a pause. She starts to chew at her fingertips, staring at nothing as she gives a quiet laugh.]
Amy: Shadow actually loved that I did that though, so um, guess that worked out. They needed a laugh.
Wow, taking GUN to court sounds like a lot work. Take it one step at a time, firts you need to talk with Shadow and Omega to see if they are ok with this
Amy: Yeah, oh yeah, absolutely, but even before that, I need to see if Tails is okay with it.
[Amy's hands twist nervously in front of her.]
Amy: He wanted to avoid legal action at all cost. Like, we were talking with a lawyer, yeah, but it was more to figure out how to work with GUN rather than against them. I don't want to bring up to Shadow and Omega anything that Rouge and I discussed unless I know Tails is also open to the idea. It's- it's his nonprofit after all. His name and reputation would be in the line of fire.
[She starts chewing her her fingertips.]
Amy: I probably shouldn't have even mentioned it to Rouge before talking to him about it, but- I- I mean- I can't see him saying no, especially once he hears about what Rouge told me.

Hey Shadow, are you ok with us talking to you while on a mission? We can stop if it bothers you
[The letter falls out of their locker as they open it, preparing for the day. They cast a quick look to make sure nobody else is paying attention before they swoop to pick it up. Quickly scanning, they quietly shake their head as they crumple it into a small ball.]
[Shadow is surrounded. There is no way to dispose of the note without arousing suspicion.]
[They tuck it in their glove to shred later.]
What are you going to do with that photo Rouge? (The one where Shadow and Amy kiss) will you tell them you have it?
[Rouge licks her lips and smirks, pulling the photo out from her pocket and looking at it.]
Rouge: It is a cute little snapshot. Omega did a good job. I might mention it to Amy, if she asks how I know. Wonder if she got my text...
[Rouge glances at her phone and sees one unheard voicemail. She clicks the icon to listen.]
OH oh that's hard. However, looking at just the games and not fandom or anything else, I gotta say Sonic and Tails. I love dynamics like that. That is the prime example of, 'the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb,' and it goes hard. 'You are brother to me.' Those two are so ride or die for one another and it warms my soul to see it.
