Scum Villain + The Untamed Sticker: Jiang Cheng/Luo Binghe! 

I call this AU: “Oh, yeah, Wei Wuxian, did anyone tell you? While you were dead, your brother’s new head disciple died under mysterious circumstances! Now it looks like that dead disciple is back as a Demon Emperor and determined to woo your brother’s heart.” Featuring a shameless and totally anachronistic hand-kissing gesture that is definitely a “demonic cultural thing”. (Luo Binghe, do you want to get electrocuted? Because this is how you get electrocuted.) 

Just imagining Luo Binghe’s “Notice Me, Shizun!!!” energy being directed at Jiang Cheng of all people made me laugh out loud. Jiang Cheng’s “blacklisted by all the matchmakers” bachelor status versus Luo Binghe’s stallion protagonist determination to woo his former sect leader, FIGHT. 

Binghe would one hundred percent be happy to let whoever die for Jiang Cheng, but I can also see an actual problem arising in terms of Binghe's willingness to roll with Jiang Cheng spending so much time and energy on his sect. I think we're fine so long as he avoids any evil mindfuck weapons but quite possibly he picks up chenqing and everything goes straight to hell. So then we've got:

Wei Wuxian, returning from the dead with some totally chill thoughts about how quickly Binghe swooped in to nab that head disciple position. The past is in the past 🙂

Binghe returning from a demonic sabbatical determined to conquer the cultivation world so Yunmeng and Jin Ling can be safe and Jiang Cheng can focus on what really matters (he wants a spring wedding)

Jiang Cheng has been DOUBLY ABANDONED. For extra bitterness.

Everybody has very strong feelings about who is and is not allowed in the ancestral hall and also to decide who is and is not allowed in the ancestral hall. What I'm saying is that Binghe calls Lan Wangji a hussy to his face.

Binghe stuck around long enough to be Jin Ling's beloved Luo-gege, so in theory he has the advantage.

But this also means he let Jin Ling believe he was dead. Jin Ling already had a complex

One day there will be family dinners and they will, indeed, be terrible.

Here me out. Ming Fan is supposed to be head disciple. He does everything he can to align with his father's shizun's preferences. In the original pidw he doesn't fail at that per se but he's still treated poorly just like everyone else besides Ning Yingying. Binghe is significantly more naturally skilled than he is, fights off a demon invasion, and even gets invited to participate in the Immortal Alliance Conference despite having his cultivation progress stunted by SJ's neglect and purposeful dissemination of poor learning materials (likely through Ming Fan.)

He's also probably unceremoniously killed along with everyone else at Cang Qiong (besides the marriable women) when Bingge returns. He's a nobody with some skills at organisation and admin, not terrible at cultivation but definitely needs to work at it, desperate for attention that is always given to that other one (even if it's negative for Binghe), and he loses everything because of said fellow disciple.

... do you see the vision??? Jiang Cheng would be SO FUCKING PISSED OFF to end up in this story, especially if he gets the SVSSS version.

Maybe he'd even congratulate himself that at least in this life he's undisputed as head disciple, he can treat the others better than his pre-transmigration self did, his skills at coordination and sect management are properly acknowledged etc. Then in comes Shen Yuan and Suddenly He's Not Even Second Best anymore. That demonic brat has returned to haunt him. And it's so fucking frustrating because he does actually like Binghe - LBH is the kind of kid who is incredibly endearing and tries very hard for anyone who shows him kindness (which, I think a post-canon or even Jin Ling era JC would absolutely do because That Is A Child. Also Binghe offered to make his shixiong food from his 'home town' and no one - not even himself - has ever gotten so close to recreating Yanli's soup before. He cries.)

But also, his father shizun has begun to completely and obviously favour Binghe over him (and everyone else), he's so gonna lose his title as head disciple, his cultivation isn't so great he could consider just leaving the fucking sect to strike out on his own (not to mention he's the only reason anything even works around here he can't just ABANDON these kids.) And then... turns out Binghe practices demonic cultivation??? Apparently??? And shizun is pushing him into the Abyss??? And some of his shidis and shimeis are dead because the Immortal Alliance Conference has a demon attack and-

Binghe is falling. Except it isn't Binghe. All he can see is Wei Wuxian. And he can't- he can't watch that again. Not in this fucking life. So he jumps in after him.

Tldr; JC and LBH adventure in the Abyss and he almost dies several times and LBH is,,, being weirdly overprotective of his shixiong (why... why is this familiar.) Endgame BingFan/BingCheng/is this really just ChengXian idek anymore probably.
