okay so in your opinion how much of post canon chengxian has shifted from shidivision (realistic, based on past experience) to shizunvision (makes no sense as wwx is with the lan but it's happening anyway) and how do they both react to it?
hi, anon! idk if this is something that's actually happening the extras (seriously, if it is, what?) since i dont read them, so i interpreted this as "how can chengxian go from shidivision to shizunvision", if that's not what you meant, pls let me know and i'll give you a more appropriate answer
so, for shizunvision to happen. jiang cheng would have to teach, not hard considering it's very likely he taught the older disciples during the early-rebuilding, but wei wuxian would have to be a willing student in some capacity for one and that man has a bad historic of respecting authority figures and, coincidentally, jiang cheng
but! as someone who enjoys putting chengxian in different roles, shizunvision is definitely interesting! maybe jiang cheng is teaching wei wuxian everything that's changed in the last sixteen years, cultivation-wise as well as lotus-pier-wise. at first, they don't really realize it but now that jiang cheng is older and wei wuxian is still physically and mentally in the body of someone in their early twenties, jiang cheng automatically and unconsciously takes care of him the way he would any other disciple
"fix your posture!", "eat your vegetables!", "don't go into the water right after eating!", etc, etc
at the start, wei wuxian would roll his eyes, thinking jiang cheng is just nagging him but he slowly realizes, to his horror, that jiang cheng is basically his shizun. maybe it was after seeing jiang cheng peel lotus seeds for him one too many times, or how jiang cheng would insist on wei wuxian training his golden core every day before their lessons, he even took the time to help wei wuxian remind of yunmeng jiang fighting style! now, after the initial shock has passed, this man would be sooo into it, you know he would think all the ways jiang cheng could "punish" him for misbehaving AND reward him for being a good boy
unfortunately for him, jiang cheng has no idea that that's what wei wuxian is implying when he starts to call him "shizun", he's just thinking it's wei wuxian being weird again
