Happy August, friends! Everyone's talking about Netflix's reboot of Queer Eye, and the hype is huge – just as it was for the original series in 2003. Been enjoying the new series and wondering if the original is worth a watch? Fan of the OG Fab 5 and curious about the new crew? Never seen either? Check out this video from Cinematica for a quick then-vs-now catch-me-up!
Season 2, Episode 5 of the new series, “The Sky's the Limit”, in which the Fab 5 make over their first trans man, is being reviewed as the reboot's “most important episode yet” (here's a recap from Digital Spy). Coincidentally, Skyler's new suit in the episode is from Bindle and Keep, one of the LGBTQ-friendly clothiers mentioned in QED 4.3 by Erin J. Rand in her article "The Right to Be Handsome: The Queer Sartorial Objects of 'Masculine of Center' Fashion”. Check out Bindle and Keep's website if you haven't!
So I found this link awhile ago, and it’s really cool! Their business is called Bindle and Keep, and HBO made a documentary about them called Suited. If you go to their website, there’s a link there to their documentary!
Their mission is to make suits for all bodies- even queer and trans* bodies! What a mitzvah.

Thank you @bindleandkeep for creating something that truly transforms me when I wear it. I've never felt more confident, handsome, and beautiful as I do wearing this bespoke suit!
Lena Dunham produced the new documentary, premiering Monday on HBO.
a good read

In regards to this post on Bindle & Keep's suits, I've shortened the title to be Bindle & Keep's Suits, cutting out the for gender-nonformists part, in recognition that
1. gender non-conformity goes infinitely beyond 'women' wearing 'men's' suits, and saying that this specific attire is for non-conformists is restricting; 2. the brand still dedicates these suits for 'women', defeating the whole point of gender-nonconformity; 3. indeed, some brands intend to leech off certain communities by advertising they are able to cater towards them specifically, exploiting them, rather than anything.
I wish to have this blog be as open-minded as it can be, so I apologize to anyone my wording made an impression on otherwise. I wouldn't have made a point out of this if it truly didn't bother me that the post was excluding aspects of the non-binary community by its simplification. Whilst it's impossible this blog can be everyones cup of tea with every post, I know better, and I'll do my best to show that. Cheers
Companies that design custom-made clothing for transgender and gender non-conforming people are coming to the forefront, as more diverse models gain visibility in the fashion industry -- and redefine the parameters of gender identity.

Check out the NY-based brand's collection here. And here to see my previous post where the brand was mentioned. I must say, I was impressed by their diversified photoshoot.
