the baltimore voters page on facebook makes my brain MELT sometimes. today, a woman (who, records show doess NOT own property in the city) is complaining about how ryan dorsey (a progressive city coucil person i campaigned for a few years ago in the district i was working in) is "targeting her" by passing legislation to remove dangerous curb cuts from city sidewalks... because in her mind, this is a made up issue, and because owners will have to foot the bill to do so. while she continues to insist this isn't an issue and won't help anyone and is a "made up public health problem" she is replying to every comment from people explaining how bad these cuts are for people with strollers, people with wheelchairs or mobility issues, and visually impared people (baltimore is home to the maryland schoolf or the blind, which has expanded to accomodate all sorts of disabilities, mind you.) all the while blathering about how badly inconvenienced SHE will be by... fixing the sidewalk.
