Are there any bi Snotlout moments not about Thor Bonecrusher?
Snotlout is an individual who likes to strut about his attraction to women. This might in part be because itās his societyās expected ādefaultā - to be heterosexual. I think it might also go hand-in-hand with how he likes to present himself as a tough, āmasculineā individual. Snotlout always wants to present himself as strong, emotionally concrete, and distanced from moreĀ āsensitiveā orĀ āweakā emotions. For instance, in No Dragon Left Behind, Snotlout admits to Hiccup that he felt lost when Hookfang lost his flame... but he immediately follows that statement by saying that if Hiccup tells anyone else that, Snotlout will deny it true. Snotlout doesnāt want people to know that he had that sensitive emotional breakdown. Now, while Snotlout doesnāt seem to have any overtly homophobic biases, it does seem like he associates flirting with hot women with touting his traditional-esque ātough masculinity.ā Itās not exactly the most ideal perspective toward queerness, but then, Snotlout isnāt a model everywhere - heās also a bit misogynistic, to point out.
But anyway. For this reason, itās a little harder for Snotlout to show really obvious moments of being attracted to men in the same way he flaunts off being attracted to women. Snotlout reveals himself veryĀ clearly in the case with Thor Bonecrusher - not only did he kiss Fishlegs inĀ āBig Man on Berk,ā but in āReturn of Thor Bonecrusher,ā he cried and said, āI loved youā when talking to TB. Watch the way he dances and smiles and grins and squirms when Thor Bonecrusher is taking the lead in the first half of the episode... that is soooooo bisexual, clear as day. His body language is not platonic in any way, shape, or form.
Thor Bonecrusher is where Snotlout gives his bisexuality away. There arenāt any other obviousĀ moments when Snotlout is attracted to men outside of TB. However, I do think that Snotlout gives some hints of his bisexual nature indirectly. For instance, when Fishlegs receives a mysterious pen pal letter, Snotlout suggests both that the pen pal is a romantic interest and it doesnāt necessarily have to be a woman. Thereās no taunt to it - instead, Snotlout just considers having a romantic attraction to a man completely legitimate and possible. This demonstrates an internal Snotlout mentality that a man can be attracted to either a man or a woman - thus being an indirect reference to his bisexuality.Ā
