I'm amazed at just how many beautiful people voted on the last poll: Poll: If Bilbo was sad and needed cheering up, or was being sassy af and needed taking down a peg or two, which one would be the better tickler? It will still be running for a week, so get your votes in!
However it highlighted just what a lack of creative work we still have in The Hobbit fandom, so soon I'll be up for a Drabble challenge and/or exchange if anyone is interested!

reason: Bofur is always the first to notice when Bilbo is missing, and even when Bilbo snaps at him and insults him for not having a home as he attempts to abandon the company, Bofur simply smiles and wishes him well. Also, Bofur is the last person to speak to Bilbo before their doomsday situation. Among other things.
about a hundred words of boffins for funsies
bofur is close, closer than bilbo had thought he was. his calloused, large fingers trace angular patterns in the ground, dry and dusty between them, and it takes the hobbit a few more moments to see the runes in them.
he sighs, sad because all his life linguistic research and interests were limited to common speech and elvish, whereas he could not even read khuzdul, let alone understand what was written.
but perhaps bofur is writing something insignificant. something unimportant... this thought is quick and rash, because the dwarf, noticing his gaze, looks up — and through his braided beard breaks a smile so bright that bilbo physically feels the tips of his ears heating up.
Love the idea of anytime Bofur gets really drunk after meeting Bilbo his go to drunk action (we all have one) is to just grab hold of Bilbo and cuddle with him all night while the others still bring him drinks. Bilbo is just content to lean back against his chest and enjoy the cuddles.
Someone walks over and tells Bofur he needs to get up to do something and he just grumbles. Fili and Kili were in hysterics laughing when Bofur ended up accidentally telling Thorin to fuck off because he didn’t notice it was him when Thorin asked him to do something. Bilbo is trying not to laugh while the others are laughing their heads off and Thorin is rolling his eyes but doesn’t take it personally because he’s happy his company are enjoying themselves when they have such a tough road ahead of them.
