Okay but like Bofur/Thorin intrigues me tell me more (insert eye emoji here i'm on desktop)
sorry i wasn't able to answer this until now!
so i just. i feel like they make a cute, soft ship. you know? thorin is a prince and bofur is just a miner, hell, he's not even from the same dwarf clan as thorin (the line of Durin are the Longbeards, Bofur is either a Broadbeam or Firebeard? either way, they're not related in any way). BUT. but. bofur still goes on the quest with thorin, to reclaim this ancestral homeland. and yes its a dwarven homeland, but bofur isn't really tied to it. he has his home in ered luin. (and the Ur family is the only non-durin family that goes on the quest! omg? can you imagine how thorin feels??)
and yet! he goes with thorin.
i just really adore this concept of thorin falling in love with this ridiculous, goofy miner, who doesn't care much for gold or treasure, but still comes along to help him. i think that bofur can make thorin smile, and laugh, and hell, we see thorin doing a lil dance when bofur sings in rivendell. thats the first time we really see thorin not being stoic and serious. it means a lot.
and just thinking about bofur being proud of seeing thorin's smile or hearing his laugh, because of him, making him blush with flirts, just to see thorin happy on this potentially doomed quest. and bofur probably thinks that thorin wouldn't really go for him. he's going to be a king! and bofur is just... bofur. and maybe thorin feels something similar, that bofur is just so charming, so free, and he probably doesn't want to really be with thorin, or that he has better choices. but :) they eventually would kiss and both have their oh. moments.

Thorin chuckled as he watched the exchange between the two.
“I’m tellin’ ya Bilbo. I didn’t bring all this delicious food. You’re gonna have to thank Frerin,” Bofur said, pointing to Thorin.
The fae grumbled, sulking over the fruit before shooting Thorin a stingy glare and sitting down with its back to him.
“Durin’s beard, Bilbo..” Bofur sighed, exasperated. It was going to be a work in progress.
