Summary:

2. Until It's Dark by suzvoy [120,900]

Summary: Lan Zhan finds out.

It changes everything.

Oh this had the tiniest amount of angst, mostly it was just sweet :'3

Lan Wangji as a ride or die gets me every time, I love them so much

I am so glad I gave this fic a chance even though it had a short description! So good <3

3. The One-Eyed Journal by Benny______1 [49,202]

Summary:

"-ototype 2 of the compass of ill winds, it's supposed to point to the nearest, largest source of evil."

Wei Wuxian stepped out of the line of view, then noticed that the arrow of the small device had spun to face him. Confused he side-stepped in the other direction. Again, the compass arrow swung to towards him.

Wei Wuxian blinked.

"Woooooooooooooooow"  he said, clearly taking offense.

I love this genre of wangxian fic. The thought of the rest of the cultivation world getting insight into the what made Wei Wuxian make those choices always gets me.

I didn't think a camera could be an OC but I am OBSESSED

Such a good fic! Warning-- it is intense at times because Wei Wuxian has gone through immense tragedy, but the ending is very good. Worth it for the small intense moments.

4. O Great Ma Guanyin, Please Protect Us All! by VyKa21 [45,179]

Summary:

What if Sisi brought Meng Yao to the Cloud Recesses very early on? She decides to shake up the Cultivation World with nary a shred of Qi in her veins, and Meng Yao gets to see many heavyweights in Jianghu get pulled into the fray.

And oh, he also learns about how Meng Shi wasn’t the only successful single parent case study out there.

(Alternate Title: Aunty Sisi Dislodges Several D/1d0s in the Cultivation World)

Fanon sisi is my absolute favourite! She's up there with fanon Lan Qiren for me.

My only gripe about this fic is I craved more scenes with Lan Qiren and Sisi. I love these two so damn much. The most upright Lan with a former sex worker AND treating her with the rightful respect and adoration she deserves [chefs kiss]

Such a fluffy fic! Some surprising pairings. A solid chill read.

5. Their Side of the Bargain by airinshaw [21,968]

Summary: To avoid being set up on more dates by his family, Wei Ying has allowed them to assume that he's dating his roommate Lan Zhan. Now it's Uncle Jiang's birthday celebration weekend and everyone is expecting him to bring Lan Zhan with him.

Lan Zhan agrees to come along and pretend that they are in a relationship for the long weekend. Shenanigans ensue.

These two are so damn stupid.

For real LMAO I was ready to rage through my kindle [I loved it]

Bless Nie Huaisang for real.

6. With Absolute Splendor by Lise [43,533]

Summary: “If you’re going to get married,” Jiang Cheng ground out, “then you’re going to damn well get married at Lotus Pier.”

Wei Wuxian blinked once. Again. Then: “what?”

Or: the one with sibling reconciliation, brother-in-laws from hell, and Jiang Cheng trying to sort through his feelings while acknowledging them as little as possible.

I read this a while ago and even though I knew what was going to happen, it still had me emotional as fuck. I admit I cried big gross tears again.

This writer just has a fantastic way of writing complicated dynamics and healing. I loved the growth and understanding that bloomed between the yumengbros [and a little bit of Lan Wangji]

This fic is cathartic, healing, and such a good read

7. Vagabond by xantissa [65,788]

Summary: Wei Wuxian comes back to Cloud Recesses after a year of wandering the world, hoping to start a relationship with Lan Zhan. He doesn’t expect to come into the middle of a case of sleeping sickness mysteriously killing people, nor does he expect what follows, putting everything he holds dear on the line once again.

So, I love a fic that challenges me and pushes boundaries a little bit; this was very much that.

This was wonderfully written, horribly complicated, and the reveal so earth shattering it got me fucked up reading it.

God my heart weeps for an OC in this.

I need like several spin offs and it even had me contemplating wangxian + another. Incredible fic.

8. (Take Me) Into Your Sweet Dreams by CherriChou [17,300]

Summary:

Luo Binghe’s expression lit up once more, and he leaned in to kiss him. Shen Qingqiu failed to keep his own lips from twitching up in a smile as Luo Binghe looped his arms around his waist. It was spring, and Luo Binghe was here, and Shen Qingqiu couldn’t imagine anything better. Life was perfect.

Shen Qingqiu and Luo Binghe are in love, and everything is great! No Abyss, no betrayal, no torturous revenge. Just the two of them living in happy, honeyed contentment.

Except…something about it feels…off.

This was recommended to me and I'm so glad it was; such a good read!

Incredible story telling, my heart weeps for Binghe though :'(
