Updated Tokyo Toy Show Banner Reveals Sanrio Stickers
When Bandai Japan announced that they would be attending the 2019 Tokyo Toy Fair, they released a graphic with a missing image, intentionally. There was a small spot for an image that read âcoming soonâ, which would be revealed later.
The banner has since been updated since the Tokyo Toy Show is now opened to the public, and the image will get any Tamagotchi fan excited. Bandai Japan will be handing out Tamagotchi/Sanrio stickers at their booth! The stickers are on the red lattice background featured on the devices faceplate, thereâs a bunch of Sanrio characters mixed in with Tamagotchi characters and even cute accessories, like the bows and strawberries Sanrio always features. Youâll even get a Tamagotchi Meets logo sticker with the Sanrio version strawberry next to it.

They are available on a first come first serve basis, so be sure to get to their booth as soon as you arrived. While youâre there, you should definitely check out the Tamagotchi Meets Fantasy Version section of their booth too!

Yomiuru Shimbun, a morning newspaper in Japan is showing some Tamagotchi love! In this weekends edition thereâs a tribute to Tamagotchi at the 2019 Tokyo Toy Show. The article dives into the evolution of Tamagotchi over the past 20 plus years. The article also showcases Bandaiâs ability to adjust to market conditions of new technologies, and an adult fanbase. The mobile application brings the game to life and really has evolved the modern Tamagotchi gameplay. Lastly, the article calls out that although there is currently a declining birth rate, the interest in Tamagotchi remains high.
