My current WIP is a YA fantasy (hints of sci-fi if you squint). It's about a girl who is sent to prison and chosen to be a part of a secret team sent to discover the other side of a massive wall separating everything she's ever known from the great unknown.
It's been a labor of love since ~2020. I technically started it before covid but was really able to get deep into it during lockdown. The reason I love it so much is because it goes a lot into the mythology of the world and really starts out as human exploration and self-identity. It doesn't lean heavily on romance at all and really aims at friendship and connection.
