It’s been a rough couple of weeks for the team -- but between jobs and vacations and injuries, we’ve somehow managed to get this ready to go on time. Let us know what you think! We try to respond to everybody, so don’t be shy. <3

Points of business:

1) CALLING ARTISTS! If you’d like to help us with colors, drop us a line! You do not have to be a pro. We’ll have 5 chapters after Chapter 1 Part 3 (each chapter split into 2-3 parts) that we’ll need colors for. Liv could do it, but that would likely delay posting time. The commitment is for as little or as much as you prefer, whether it’s 1 update or multiple chapters. It’s a fun opportunity to collaborate with other Reylos and make something the whole fandom can enjoy.

2) If you want in on some awesome exclusive content, join our Patreon! For as little as a buck a month you can get access to our patrons-only Discord server and early access to special posts including behind-the-scenes photos and video, concept art, and fan art. Help us keep the lights on! :)

MICROUPDATE! Ben Solo is gaining steam on Twitter. His comment section’s a MESS though, especially since he mistook #tbt to mean throwback Tuesday.

(And yes, by “roomie” he means celly.)

We’ll be transitioning to a new colorist, and in addition to that, your BetheVerse team needs a breather! But we’re always happy to get your lovely messages -- they are the best form of encouragement.

Dear readers! We are looking for artists interested in doing colors for Knights of Ren starting with Chapter 2 Part 1. If you are interested, PM us here!

And don’t be shy if you haven’t done something like this before. We’re just looking for someone who wants to have some fun collaborating on the project. If you know of anyone who might be interested, send them our way!

So is this comic. Technically, this comic is fanfiction of fanfiction of Star Wars. We agree: it's a stretch. Just go with it.

Did Neil Gaiman actually endorse this project? No. Liv thought it would be funny to stick a fake quote from him on the back jacket because Neil endorses a lot of excellent fiction. And  we're pretty sure that he'd support our imaginary book if he knew about it. 

So who are we really? Be the Verse is a group effort! All content here is written by Juliet ( @r-e-a-l-m-a-t-h) and illustrated by Liv (@rad-braybury), with notable exceptions, which we will, er, note. For Knights of Ren, we currently have two collaborators:

Rikke (@vanta-gold​) joins us as our colorist and guest artist for the cover. She is an accomplished professional artist who regularly blesses our fandom with incredible illustrations.

And concept for the imaginary graphic novel The Knights of Ren is Bethany's. Bethany (@likeadove​) is the author of the modern AU fic "we could plant a house, we could build a tree," in which Ben Solo is... well, you see the bio above. Bethany has kindly given us permission to make the story our own.

“Be the Verse”? Be the Verse is a project Liv and Juliet have been dreaming up since they met. We have a lot of stories we are impatient to tell and wanted a place online for all of them to live. Knights of Ren is the first of what we hope will be many creative works! (We’re ambitious like that.) 

Where are we going from here? Liv and Juliet have five or six installments or chapters of this story plotted out. We will keep you updated on various social media platforms when we figure out our posting schedule. Art is hard, and good art takes a little while. But follow us, keep your eyes peeled and ears tuned, and you won't be disappointed.
