It's been known for decades now that setting them free is a death wish for aquatic life who mistake balloons for food then consume them and sea birds... It's irresponsible and helium is also finite. Think it is safe because of where you are geographically? Think again, balloons can travel far distances. Even if it says biodegradable, it takes years to biodegrade.
