You know what I want to rant about... but... hmmmm... how about that old trope of Killian being an idiot with technology while canon has disproven it, the main reason anyone else understands technology is because they were cursed to and he learned it the hard way (not to mention quickly), and itās often used either as lazy comedic relief or to build up the intelligence of another character.
YES. Exactly. Thatās why I subscribe to the headcanon that his refusal to call things by their right name (ātalking phoneā etc) is just his own little inside joke with himself (See here andĀ hereĀ or even the story I posted yesterday, where Wish HookĀ (who DOES have cursed knowledge of the modern world) does this to Regina) to tease the more āmodernā folks.
That said, I do have to admit that I love funny shit. And I am willing to overlook almost ANY inconsistencies or dodgy headcanons to facilitate something being funny. So I canāt really say that it makes me MAD when people go for the easyĀ āman from another time doesnāt understand technologyā joke - when itās done solely for humorās sake.
I just donāt like it when people take it to heart and act like it means Killian is actually stupid or less intelligent than any other character. Jokes are jokes, but take them too far and they stop being funny.
Itās kinda like when I call Killian an idiot for standing in the middle of the road and getting hit by a car. I do it because itās funny, and it makes me laugh, but I donāt actually think he lacks the intelligence to get out of the way of a moving vehicle. Itās obvious he just didnāt have the time to do so. Itās just fun sometimes to shoutĀ āGET OUT OF THE ROAD, IDIOTā at him XD
