Quite a powerhouse episode for the Sugdens. Jack did not come home and the boys really starting to worry but continue to snipe at each other left and right (Robert’s seeing it as Jack trying to ‘wind’ him up). Robert goes goes to Diane (who blasts him big time) for help in finding Jack (‘he’s gone walkabout’). First ever scene between Robert and Bernice. On a hunch, the boys find Jack at the farmhouse in bad shape and just wanting to be left alone but the boys persuade Jack to return home as Robert profusely apologizes to him. Back home, Jack asks Diane to pick up Victoria and keep her with her as it’s time for him and boys to airs things out. Gifs will be posted separately.

Robert: Shouldn't you be in your taxi? Oh, wait, no, you haven't got a taxi.

Ross: You won't be laughing when you see what I've done to your car.

Finn: You've wound him up enough. (go to sit down)

Robert: Do you reckon they've flogged that weed yet?

Aaron: How would I know?

Robert: I'm thinking that we go to the police and we get them sent down.

Aaron: Thet's not gonna get your car back though, is it?

Robert: No, but it will get Ross put behind bars.

Aaron: Yeah, and Finn. He wouldn't last two seconds inside.

Robert: So what? He got you locked up.

Aaron: Yeah, well, I don't care, I can't do that to him. Just let me speak to them. (goes over to them) You all right, mate?

Finn: Mates?

Aaron: Well, this is getting a bit silly now. Can we not just call it quits?

Ross: We can call it quits when I get a new car.

Robert: Oh, yeah? You can use that money that you bribed out of me.

Ross: That was just a downpayment. Ten K or you never see your car ever again.

Robert: Ten K? (chuckles then moves)

Aaron: (grabs him) Leave it.

Robert: More blackmail?

Finn: What did I tell you?

Bernice: Now, now, boys, whatever this is, why don't we all sit down and discuss sensibly.

One brief scene with Robert. Jack isn’t happy about anti-phone mast posters and confronts Viv about it. The teens learn what their community service involves. Eve gets a lovely slap from Ollie as she puts the blame on Edna for her lying in court. Jack has no choice but to attend the public meeting on the phone mast. Bernice continues to be neutral on the matter. Robert and Katie have their community service together while Ollie promises to make Eve’s life a misery.

The focus is on the mobile phone mast mostly. Viv steps up her anti-mobile phone mast campaign including covering up Diane’s own flyers. Diane winds up grabbing the reporter, Polly Grantham, Viv was gonna to talk to give her perspective of the situation.

The boys try to give Jack and Kathy a heads up about Elsa/Alan but are unable to reach them. Both Elsa and Alan show up (Elsa manhandling Andy) and won’t budge until they see Alice. Nick has given his full backing to Kathy. Elsa tries to pull Alice out of the car roughly then isn’t too much kinder in Jack’s home (‘always playing the little madam!’) clearly scaring not only Alice but the others there. Meanwhile, Viv tries to get more signatures on the petition, namely Bernice and Tricia. Gifs will be posted separated.

Jack receives the news he’s been waiting for - the phone mast is a go so he decides to take the kids to the pub to celebrate and it’s drinks are on him (Robert’s true smile shines through 🥰). Edna meanwhile does what she does best - moan about Jack and the evils the mast would bring if it does become a reality (and him selling his soul to the devil). Jack’s happy Alan is at least on his side on this mast issue. When the Sugdens return home, they are in for a surprise - Kathy and Alice!
